Not a very good video, you tell what to do but you don't show actually doing anything🤦♂️🤷

Some of these trucks (2002 anyway for sure) were built as OBD1. There are only two upstream o2 sensors. They’re all the same size and connection ends. So if you only have two, don’t sweat it. The heavier gross weight trucks got away with emissions standards for a while. You can scan for codes via an obd2 port under the dash, but your o2 sensors will show a constant “under test” or “not ready”. Mine always passes the required state emissions test, even with these readings.

Certified tech here. Don’t ever use a steel punch to remove or install the fuel pump lock ring. Steel on steel creates sparks and will blow up the gas tank and possibly the whole car. Always use a brass or bronze punch with a hammer to prevent any sparks.

I'd like to see you remove the back spark plug work. I am learning to care for my own. Thank you

probably better to just get a cheap fuse/relay tester instead of taking a chance shorting out your fuse box

What about the manifold gaskets should they be replaced...
@DirtRoadAutoRepair4 күн бұрын
If you would like it wouldn’t hurt, but they can be reused if they are still soft and pliable. If they are dry and hard then they should be replaced.

Look for all those that want to do this clutch job their self . Set your vehicle on blocks and instead of cutting the torsion bar xcross member support ( 🤦) or taking the torsion bars out like it calls for in the book which is a job in itself. Here's a hack for you-jus take the four bolts out of the cab that mount the cab to the frame jack up the back of the cab and put some wood blocks between the cab and the frame. This will then allow you enough room to be able to drop the transmission with transfer case still attached and slide it back giving you enough room to be able to get into it to change your clutch and everything else.

I was wondering I bought a dodge Durango it’s 2004 I bought it for 500 dollars but he told me the rain storm the water got in the crankcase and before I bought it been sitting 7 years can the truck be fix I just want to hear yall advice I shouldn’t by it
@DirtRoadAutoRepair9 күн бұрын
Sitting for 7 years is a long time. Brakes could be seized up and lots of other issues can happen from sitting. But honestly $500 is basically scrap metal price. So the price is right. End of the day, I haven’t seen the vehicle. I don’t know your skill level, my advice is worth what you’re paying for it.

Why would the engineers design this? Do they believe the relays never go bad? They apparently have a problem with people working on the people's car.
@DirtRoadAutoRepair10 күн бұрын
It probably saved 25 cents with shorter wiring or something 🤷🏼♂️

Do you know why the pump on Amazon is way cheaper than the stores?
@DirtRoadAutoRepair10 күн бұрын
It’s almost always the case. One reason is parts store has things on the shelf and part of the higher price is the convenience of picking it up at the store vs waiting a few days for shipping.
