You pay only once! That payment includes activities inside the ship and food. Alcohol and items you might to buy in the ships are an extra charge :)

Depends where you live. I live in Florida, monthly salary for a scribe is around $15-17. I was lucky to land with a company that pays $18 per hour. If you are bilingual that’s a bonus for the company. You may work in one place for 2-3 years to gain experience. Switch to a specialty, for example oncology or neurology. Find places that need scribes in those specialties. Learn the terminology and make connections, from there move up to research. Cancer research tends to have more opportunities to grow.

When you arrive to the cruise port, there is a section to park your vehicle. We traveled to Miami and Uber to the cruise port.

My bother was working as a medical scribe at the clinic and helped me get in. You need to know basic medical terminology and basic computer skills. Everything else you learn in the job. I was very lucky to have my bother help me get in as I didn’t have prior experience (I had some shadowing experience at a local pediatric clinic). You can also go to a program that trains medical scribes but the pay is very low and the hours are long. Sometimes they send you to places that are an hour away from home. You can also apply to a local community college to train as a medical assistant. Unfortunately those programs don’t offer pell grant or scholarships, you have to pay out of pocket. You can start as a medical assistant and become a scribe medical assistant. Scribes tend to have a better pay than MAs. I highly suggest to get shadowing experience at a clinic and start applying to scribe position at different clinics. They mostly look for experience either through other jobs or volunteer.

To be honest with you, I’m not sure. Working as a scribe allows me to see what providers (PA, MD, DO, and NP) have to deal with. Companies often put money over patients and providers care, at hospitals or clinics. I enjoy procedures and women care. That is something I’d love to get involved in. I also love digital design and hope to grow my blog to a full time income. At the moment I love being a scribe and working with different providers, they teach me something new about medicine and life. I also love working on my blog as a hobby. I’ll put it out in the universe to see what my next step will be 😊
