Not directly from the device, you have to transfer it back to the console.

No, it's only to transfer your games. You can't play games on it. It is only for storage to give you space on the xbox. You still have to transfer the game back to the Xbox to play it.

Is this compatible with xbox360 as well? 2 TB should be. Im asking because I want to first download some games from xbox360 store before they shut down it in july and then use rest of the space with my Series S. Can I swich this memory thing between 2 consoles?

Yes its compatible with the xbox 360. The only thing is when your ready to play a game you have to transfer it to the console and if the game is disconnected i dont think it will work.But you can use it on different devices all depend on how mucn memory you have. hope this helps

You can transfer your games, but you can't play them from the drive, so you would have to swap around games when you want to play.
