Was concerned about you and the house ! In north Florida ( lake city area), we had wind from 85-115 mph ! 1.5 “ rain and no power for three days( now on ) continual utility trucks and support vehicles too going by nearby highway ! Few limbs and lots of debris ,.. and I mean lots ! Blessed it didn’t affect house although lots of trees ( big ones) everywhere. Be safe and observe your surroundings folks !

We had down trees here on Lake Norman NC but nothing like what the mountains and Asheville is experiencing right now. Overall we are the lucky ones and can remove trees and move forward. Wish you well and hope power is back soon. ❤

You are a trooper! We had a rough couple of hours in central NC, but none of our 40 old pines came down. The pool was a mess but that’s nothing. Just a suggestion, you might want to lose a few more trees when the guys come to remove downed ones. There will be more storms, I promise!

I live in Aiken. It will be a while before anyone that has electricity through Aiken Electric Co-op has power. Estimates are about a week. Good luck. We are all in the same boat. Glad your damage was not worse.

Nothing wins against Mother Nature. You just have to be thankful for what didn’t happen. With all those trees down your gardens next year will be different, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Nice exterior paint color. Soft, yet happy. Keep up your spirits.

Bless your heart. You will get things back on track & it will be gorgeous in time. Lived on the Gulf Coast for 26 years & left our homes numerous times to avoid hurricanes. Stayed for two & was without power. Buy a generator that is built in to the house so you don't have to fiddle with turning it on. Keep provisions that don't need refrigeration. Prayers for you.

Oh, Brian! I went from joy that you had posted a new episode to the depths of despair when I realized what your video is about! It's a mixed bag of anguish and gratitude that the damage was not centered on the house. But....so much progress erased. I'm sick for the trees and renovations damaged and Your Pool but relieved that you weren't injured and the damage to the house may be minimal (the roof/attic leak!!!). Your attitude is admirable. Seeing you smile in the midst of the destruction is evidence of a spirit of gratefulness that is a reward and brings reward.. I'm sorry for the things lost while relieved that not all was lost.

Having lived through several rounds of tornado decimation, I know what you’re feeling. You did your house the biggest favor by taking that tree down initially. Life will get better as soon as you get power back and a path to the outside world again. You now have your own chapter in the history of that fabulous property. ❤️

Main thing is you’re OKAY!! My heart is sad to see so much damage and with ALL of your hard work and efforts thus far! Definitely a setback but, you won’t be defeated, (not with a positive attitude like yours)…bruised a little for sure. I can sympathize knowing the feeling, we had a direct hit with Hurricane Laura In August 2020. The devastation was horrific. Cleaning crews came as far away as New York to help…I’m sure many will be in your area as well…call around and check with others about help Brian. Stay safe!! ✨🙏🏻

Brian, you have such a positive outlook no matter what happens. Years ago the top third of our neighbors tree cracked off and landed in our yard. It was more than my husband and I could tackle on our own. I knew a tree service would be expensive, but what can you do? When I came home from work, everything was gone. It was like it never happened. Of course you lost A LOT of trees, so the situation is so magnified. All the best and I will keep watching.

IMHO, you need a chain saw. Not necessarily for this job, but for the future. You have old trees and they will continue to come down. I'm not saying to risk your life of course, but it's silly to pay someone if a large limb comes down and you can just as easily dispose of it yourself. This could be a blessing. Make sure your arborists lets you keep the wood chips. Hardwood makes wonderful mulch for your garden beds! Spread it around for paths and planting beds. It nourishes the soil! Brian! OMG!! I live on the Gulf Coast of Florida near Sarasota so I have an idea of how damaging this storm was.....but OMG....thank goodness you removed that huge tree from the front of your house! So glad you were safe! I feel so bad for all your damage because I know how hard you have work to get things looking beautiful. So sorry to hear and see this. The good thing is nothin fell on the house and no structural damage from what I see. The trees needed a trim it seems like but wow what a mess is left so sorry. Thank God you’re okay. Trees will grow just give them some tree food now that they got limbed up. Prayers go out to you and all those affected by this storm. Take care Brian it’s going to be okay.
