I just realized the reporter guy was Tobias in HBO's OZ show. My lord, that show REALLY was the starting place for dozens of HBO actors.

For those wondering what the song is, it's called: 'Simon Says' by Pharoahe Monch. You're welcome. 🔥

Sam Rockwell killed this scene so crucially, they just had him play basically the exact same character in Iron Man 😅👌🔥

I had a Captain like Lt. Fink. Unfortunately my upper enlisted hated me, a particular Sgt Maj. Captain Beck had to put him in check multiple times.

I couldn't wait to go to boot after binging this show. Couldn't sign that line fast enough lol. They portrayed the marine corps pretty well in this series. I was a crewchief so I didn't eat as much green weeny as the grunts did, but at the end of the day we all ate it and this showed how ridiculous things can get during a war where people are trying to make names for themselves and getting marines killed in the process.

The real Nathan Fick said something in an interview that's stuck with me. He said that good leaders implement two traits: 1. They are very competent at what they do. 2. They use that competence with affection to make the ones placed in their care better at what they do, and help them do so in better spirits if possible.

Fick probably expected all the times he told off his company commander to kill his career. Then the Biden Administration gave him a position high up in the state department.

February 2024, Nathaniel C. Fick travelled to Kyiv, Ukraine as an ambassador to reaffirm American support for Ukraine's digital defence even as the U.S. Congress delayed funding the supplemental appropriation. It seems like having to cover for higher-ups ineptitude and ego is still in his job description...

The absolute best field officer in the entire Division. Able to make SENSIBLE DECISIONS UNDER FIRE CONSISTENTLY. To him no men were expendable unless the COHESIVE mission was of a high priority. He also chose to put himself in harm’s way sometimes rather than ordering subordinates to do it all of the time. He cared about his Marines. He was also a patriot, an incredible soldier in combat, and obviously trained hard enough before deploying that he could perform all of his duties correctly and effectively.

Some may see Evan Wright’s interpretation of Nate Fick as outlandish, but I’m fairly certain a self made future CEO would be an absolute unicorn of an infantry officer.

Good leaders such as Lt. Fick are PURE GOLD, and just as hard to come by sometimes. Leadership can make or break a mission and/or a unit. The dumb ones rarely own up to getting their men killed but it happens quite often, far too often. God Bless the Lt. Ficks of the world. SSG. U.S. Army (Medically Retired) Infantry / Sniper / SOF Intel (SOT-A), multiple tours

Where did stark sands get his military training to do this movie? If you look him up, he’s a quirky Broadway actor singer. Kinda hard to see him playing this character from his KZbin videos.

He was one of the few competent leaders that was actually recon qualed and was an Afghanistan combat vet going into Iraq when many other officers were pulled from their actual MOS to be infantry unit leaders they were otherwise not experienced or qualified enough to be. Stark Sands did an amazing portrayal.
