Large-size notes were first issued in 1861 when the federal government began printing demand notes. Large-size notes of all types continued to be printed and circulated until small-size notes were introduced in 1929. While those so-called “horse blanket” notes were large, at 3.125 inches by 7.375 inches it is an exaggeration to say they could cover a horse’s back underneath its saddle.

Very good notes to submit. If you can afford the cost it's never a bad idea to get your notes graded. You have my favorite note the $1 1918 Federal Reserve Bank Note from New York, I have the Minneapolis but not in that good of condition. Some of the small size notes it may be more cost effective to purchase the notes already graded by PMG.

I want to grade them because I worry they are not real, but I got them back a month after that and I think I never waste my money on the grading no more, it is so expensive and I can't even touch my favorite notes anymore

@@5SauDoi Take them into a Local Coin Dealer first and they should be able to help. But it does cost about $30-$40 per note when you are sending in. But they usually have a sign up fee and then you get like 10 (?). The 1928 & 1957 A Silver Certificate, and 1923 Large Silver Certificate may not be worth getting graded.

The letter after the Series year denotes that there was a minor change of design or signature change for that Series. For example the $1 1935 Silver Certificate was the first issue of the 1935 Series. For 1935A there was a minor design change on the back, 1935B, 1935C, 1935D, 1935E, 1935F, and 1935G the signatures of the Secretary of the Treasury and the Treasurer of the United States changed. In 1957 there was a design update that replaced the 1935G. Note that the the Series year does not mean it was printed that year. That is a classic Hawaiian overprint with an interesting WWII history - and the fold isn't too bad for a great note. The five dollar North Africa note is stunning. The $5 is the hardest note to get in better grades and you have a really, really nice example. Beautiful Large Size $10 and $5 1914s. They only made $5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 notes. Thanks for sharing.
