Hi Charly, my 8 year old son loves anything to do with fishing and is spending lots of time watching videos on KZbin. It looks like you’re local to us? I know nothing about fishing and haven’t a clue where to start. Is there any local fishing groups my son and I can come and watch before we look into him starting/getting all the equipment etc? Any Information would be gravely appreciated, thanks.

Such a shame that what looks like a really nice fishery has been neglected. Some 50 years ago I remembered hearing rumours of big pike being caught there . If Thirsk ac offer day tickets for that ve venue I'd give it a try .

Sadly couldn't be more wrong about fish stocks up North we are in exactly same boat as you reffer to down south , year by year it's noticeable the decline in all species , especially pike and perch , but also barbel and chub ,areas on wharfe and Nidd that were prolific are now very patchy and in some cases almost void of fish. There is always right conditions where fishing seems to improve but that's only cause everything is right to catch . Sadly pollution , predation , and humans especially foreign people take fish to eat , which is why I think not to far down line we maybe need to stop advertising the remaining fishing venues that are still in reasonable condition

Seem to be a good head of Barbel there, unlike the southern rivers nowadays! 👍

Its not Leeds , its a lightly fished area ,and hope it stays that way ,seen so many places change because of people sharing stuff , and its not prolific its hard going most of time ,just as anywhere catch it right like tom did u get better sport

Some good fish there. Was this a LDASA stretch you were catching on? It doesn't look tree-lined enough to be Topcliffe and wrong side of the river for Asenby?

I was waiting for one of your rods go wrap round like it usually does on the river Tom !!!!!! Never mind buddy …… When I lived in Teesside back in the day it was always said there was some nice fish in there. There was supposed to be some Pike as well someone told me but that was probably about 20 years ago or more. There’s got to be some monsters hiding in there somewhere. Could do with some underwater cameras and see what’s going on. Anyway, all the best buddy. 👍👍😁😁🎣🎣

Fish are supposed to thrive on neglect. Not always the case, as this lake illustrates.

When did you film this charly(tom) had some outstanding success on the wharfe this season. Had lots of multiple catches . Even beat my best and had 10 in a sitting. Nothing above 8lb 12 oz though but still awesome fishing.

Hi Charly - A worm chucked in, up against that "Mill House" wall looks very Perchy, assuming you're allowed ? I'd have a little Telescopic rod already set up just to try for 10 minutes on your way to your other pegs !! 🎣

Hi there, me and my dad watch your fishing videos and remember fishing these same venues years ago. I've noticed you fish bedale beck, but we were wondering if you know who now has the rights from what used to be the leeds angling club stretch that joins the swale? Many happy memories of good days up that neck of the woods. Great video's ,looking forward to more.

I have often wondered about the former Leeds stretch (that is 40yr ago) and no club appears to have the rights. Much of it belongs to one farm and the farmer could be approached for permission.

@benfletcher7969 @Charlyfarly2 I was told a syndicate had it. This was twenty years ago mind.

Last fished (officially) in 2018 - so it's only six years of neglect - was down there last month, strimmed all around the place and cut back lots of overhanging buahes.

Thanks for your hard work. I hope you saved a bit as it is a monumental task to renovate the place. I had three hours fishing yesterday - nothing and not a ripple. .

Shame to what could clearly be a lovely place to fish left in such a state. Although happened here in Darlington with Brinkburn pond. Good local pond like this would be and should be family friendly days out for parents and kids, just a nice little place to take your little ones and teach them how to catch a few little ones without the worry of full time carp nuts bivvied up every 5 yards. But sadly we let these places rot as we're doing to so many towns and local areas. Every where you look these days somethings neglected or in disrepair. Anyways nice to see you out n about again tom.

Used to fish it 30 years ago, was full of fish and my mate had a 16lb pike out. Its always suffered with weed and at times blue/green algae. also parking not ideal.

Thanks for the video. I went to visit the top section yesterday in the evening sun and a lovely spot to fish. I’ve not fished in about 30 years and I’ve just bought a rod licence to take my son who’s 8 and can’t wait!

Was a really good pond back in the day, had some big Carp in it, plus Tench Bream and Pike. Could be great again but needs a lot of work. It was previously a Stokesley AC Water

Stokesley AC folded and then the water was leased for a short time by a syndicate. Eventually predation took its toll and the water has been left alone for many years .

Excellent video. I didn't know where to start until I found this video (the mower manual was useless). Anyway, having stripped off the blade and the cover I found the clutch belt was still in good condition, it had just slipped off as the clutch adjustment bolt had worked away too far from the body. To get the belt back on I further loosened the clutch adjustment bolt, got the belt back on, retightened the clutch adjustment to the right point and the power drive was back. Thanks and I now know what to do when the belt does eventually pack in.
