I think having the spin-offs being canon is fine, as long as it doesn’t detract from the main experience.

Ian in interview has stated that it wouldnt detract after this vid was made. A lot of my concerns were actually addressed by him so im chill

@@flakyseasalt As a Badnik fan, most Sonic media being canon nowadays is not that big of a deal for me personally. I do agree though that the games shouldn’t rely on people having already read the comics and watch the shows to get the full experience.

I agree with prime IDW is worthy of being canon it simply just redeems lots of things from games

Thats not my point. My point isnt that they shouldnt be canon cause of what they offer. The point is that spin-off content shouldnt be canon cause its too tedious to analyse the mainline games + everytthing else

Yeah, I agree. I never read the comics either. What I liked about the games is that I didn't need to worry about all of the shows and comics being canon. It was optional, and now it's required. Sticks also doesn't really make sense to be in the canon, and it kind of felt like the characters are now just being forced into canon. There could be a canon counterpart that isn't from Boom, but we were never introduced to that Sticks. I would like them to introduce other media characters. There's too many inconsistencies between the games, comics and shows for me to take it seriously.

Yeah I always thought that the mention of sticks and tangle in frontiers was them being modern equivalents. Not that these respective worlds are in the same world
