Do you draw with a computer and a mouse when you draw? Or do you draw it with an iPad?
@NickTerryArtАй бұрын
@@hannipham-t5s I'm on a computer using a drawing tablet and stylus. I've tried using an iPad, but I'm so used to my big ol' monitors and having my keyboard for shortcuts, this has remained my preferred method :)

Gorgeous! I don't watch many art process videos, and that you work in grayscale to begin is fascinating. :)
@NickTerryArtАй бұрын
Thank you! It helps me focus on shapes and composition for those early stages, before I commit to the design. An artist I've taken some courses from often emphasized that if you can get an image working in silhouette in the early steps, you're 80% of the way there already 🙂

This has totally inspired me to do some of my own cyberpunk art! I grabbed a whole bunch of the shape tools you suggested in other comments :) I was wondering what you used for the lit up areas/windows on the megablock towers?
@NickTerryArt2 ай бұрын
That's great to hear! For the windows, I believe I mostly pulled photos from free sites like Pexels or Unsplash of city buildings at night, dropped them in wherever I might want windows, set the layer to (I think) color dodge, masked it all out and then painted the windows back in just in the spots where I wanted them. Hope that's helpful! Happy to elaborate further

Hello. I just came across your process video and was so impressed by how much work you put into such a complicated scene. I also learned some techniques by closely observing your process, and I wanted to say thank you for sharing your process (+ showing how you manage to organize your layers, I was struggling with how to do it for a really long time). And I wonder if you are planning to release any more process video like this? I'm eager to see what you're creating in the future.
