He decided to dance on a TV show to make some money and actually show the media what b-boying is all about. He represented correctly and still entertained the crowd as a performer. Sell out. Pffffft. Dance as much as he does and see if you'll still do it for free. When people request you for shows especially.

@guardiantony31 He didn't sell out. If you watched some of his Star Search interviews from back then, you would see that he made it a point for the producers judges, hosts etc... to call him a b-boy. He even broke down the dance explained that it's not all about tricks and whatever. He was pretty much dancing the whole time. This is an acrobatic energetic dance. Powermoves are involved. When a b-boy dances so much to the point where that all they do, he must make money from it. .

You think it's fair that lot of whack ass crews join the event such as amazon b, ubuntu, breakers without fear, belarusian, etc to join while there are far superior crews from Korea, US, and Japan. Why isn't 7commandoz, Rivers Crew, MZK, Killafornia, Mortal Kombat, Flo Mo, etc in BOTY? In your logic, I guess they're not there because they're not qualified to be there, right? BOTY is publicity showcase competition with politics involved.

@EdDy4RheelZ redbull is publicity comps too fyi. if you have ever been to a real jam, every crew have to battle in a "Showcase" to advance to the real shit. BOTY is by far one of the "realest" bboy scenes. oh and about all-star teams, Korea had Project Soul and was wacking other crews til the world as one ask them to disband or dont enter comps. and yes i dick ride koreans because of their technicality, not afraid to say it.

There's only 3-5 crews who are really established and rest of other crews aren't at professional level. At least in World Cup soccer, country teams are composed of all-star members representing that country. in BOTY, it's only one crew from that country. Not a legit, fair competition. Red Bull, you battle to the top. ABDC and BOTY are two showcase publicity competition.

In Freestyle Session, we only get top crews and we battle to the top. Same with UK and Red Bull. BOTY is a showcase battle. I got more respect for competitions where you battle to the top and keep it real, not some phony showcase that needs to be approved to battle. Bboying in its raw form was battling.
