It was confirmation of a message preached recently by my pastors in Murfreesboro, TN that “God wants us to Choose to rejoice in His goodness, to rejoice in His love, to rejoice in His faithfulness, to rejoice in His mercies which begin anew everyday, to rejoice because of who He is. At the 43. minute mark a friend brought this to my attention. I said the 'law' was under the covenant of promise, and I didn't catch myself. In my mind I was saying 'the 10 commandments are under the covenant of promise'... this is made clear in Ex. 24.8 Moses seals the Covenant of Promise with blood. The 10 commandments were not under the law but were being sealed under The Covennt of Promise. Yet, after the people break this covenant by idolatry and making the golden calf and so forth... we see the covenant changing and the Law of Ordinances being instituted in Ex. 24.12ff and going through Dt. 31. In Dt. 31.26ff Moses finishes writing The Law (which was several years after the Covenant of Promise was sealed with blood in Ex. 24).. Moses then says take this book of the Law and place it on the outside of the Ark of the Covenant as a testimony against the people. Meaning the Ark of the Covenant contained the things of promise including the 10 commandments! So we see a clear distinction between the Book of the Law being placed on the outside of the Ark of the Covenant and the Covenant of Promise with the 10 commandments within... Galatians 3 helps us understand this. Sorry if that brought any confusion!:)
