I like that you are showing how the eye strike takes advantage of the opponent's reaction. (Bending his arm after getting hit by your palm to the face). Very few people realize that that is part of this technique (as all other Ed Parker techniques).

This is an interesting variation. My only issue is that you are calling it "the extension". That could lead people to believe that you are doing the original Ed Parker extension. But your suffixes, while they look great, are nowhere close to Mr. Parker's actual extension. It would be easier to support your efforts if you would be clear where this variation is from.

I hope you produce more of these short “what if” videos. Very informative. I’m was a fanatical Kenpoist from high school 1980 through my 30’s but have been out of it. Now in my 50’s I’ve been getting back into it, but have forgotten many techniques (in part or full). Your Casa de Kenpo channel filled in a lot of gaps (as well as triggering my memory). Keep up the good work!

Please please cross your feet in a fight, I wanna see how badly that does not work for ya. I love how this crap is predicated on the opponent A, stopping at 1 punch and B, that your weak ass strikes will have an intend effect, and C, the follow on technique is reliant on that weak ass technique having the desired effect. Weak sauce stop buying into this BS.

Clearly this fantasy movie fighter never fought in the streets. You never can predict opponents moves. Especially when anger rage and agression is involved. Opponents move fast and in many ways towards You. Not how You imagin it to be in your head. And while a big element of fear adrenaline and uncertainty is involved You will and I repeat...a lot of what You trained for is out of the window. No fight is fought like this. In the street You fight differently. These guys withold punches but in real life they want to Hurt You. You as a fighter wont even stand that close. You know these guys so You feel comfortable to move and turn around like this. Without doubt and especially without fear. THAT is the biggest factor! Kenpo is wel meant but never works in the streets. To much movements. To much combo's. In street fighting you keep it simple, short and fast.

American Kenpo doesn’t work in the streets doesn’t work in the streets! It has worked for me. What you need to understand is the Kenpo techniques are not meant to be executed a,b,c. Each technique is comprised of various responses. Each technique is meant to be worked hard and often that your body may respond without having to mechanically attempt to use what you’ve learned. Much like shadow boxing. Whether Chinese or Western boxing. If you were trained in American Kenpo or one of the offshoot systems, and were’nt trained in the aforementioned “way”, it’s my opinion that you need to either find an instructor that will. Or retool what you have learned with that mindset.
