Put some stream gauges in if you can possibly link flood gates to open and close at a certain height of the water to micromanage less in the drought Also maybe remove your original dams to replace them with platforms so it doesn’t keep backing up when water flows and flood with it hittting the dams and bouncing back

You should put some floodgates further down the main reservoir to release bad tides which would mean you could keep the other full of water instead of releasing all the water each bad tide.

beaver operated power wheel was a good idea during droughts, with so much plank + gear requirement and also having so many unemployed beavers.

Food storage was full for once in this episode, might even have blocked harvesting as warehouse was full. probably add a few extra warehouses for food next time. also, this game should have a waterwheel power water pump (planks and gears can be made so water should also be pumpable), we have a waterwheel right besides two water pumps but still consuming a beaver per pump

08:00 if you add a small warehouse for storing logs between trees and levee construction area, the beavers path would be come shorter, they don't have to walk to faraway warehouse to deposit logs , and then pick from warehouse and bring back to construct levees.

let us see how this one goes, increasing workhours apparently increases food consumption sometime in emergency one has to choose ugly choice of either 'temporary' construction to save time or delete paths and farm to quickly place a building when one cant wait for base to be constructed on water

→ I think you have slightly too much beavers for your current food supply. Maybe look into casavas? They have a better farm space → food ratio (though they need the powered fermenter to process it). Even better will be corn, but getting the food factory is still quite a bit off. (Also you could plant some mangroves in your river, assuming you solve the bad tide problem. I don't think that will slow down the river. It's also not the most efficient food in land usage terms, but I guess you are not using your river for anything else.) Also, you certainly need more water storage. Maybe invest into gears, so you can get the medium tanks? → 20:48 I think you can build what you want to build here (levees with floodgates in the middle) with just two stairs. (Unless you want to avoid beavers getting into the bad water, then I guess putting it on platforms is good.) → 22:44 "Being able to trap some water up here would probably be beneficial as well" - Yes, you need vertical water storage (or in big barrels), not in flat lakes, to survive these long droughts and bad tides. The sluice gates can help to keep your irrigation canal watered, without losing water off the map.

→ You can now put a rooftop terrace on top of that warehouse opposite the plank pile, after you already made the stairs plus platforms to get there. → 21:40 Most efficient location for the shrub would be on a platform over the path between the 3 baracks, covering all of them. And then the lantern on another platform beside it. (Of course, your taste might not like it there.) Though you are in the drought with no planks, so that would not work right now. → On this map with your difficulty, building large lakes is not going to be sustainable, due to the evaporation. Instead you want to build deep reservoirs which can be filled during the temperate season, and then be used for water pumping and for irrigation with smaller channels. The sluice gates can help with that (they allow letting out water from the bottom of a big reservoir in a controlled way, keeping the level downstream). For the next episode: → I'd recommend thinking about the bad tides, which will arrive inevitably. You'll want some bad tide diversion system, or your big reservoir will just be filled with bad water. (One option is to do it directly near the sources, and shove it directly to the other side of the mountain. Of course, later you might want to use the bad water from there for power generation too, but take care not to poison your plants on the way.)

→ Replacing the oaks with pines seems like a strange decision. You could just replant them as oaks - the existing oaks help you out while new ones are growing. (And you can get a second pine forest in parallel, if you really need one. (Though I guess when you get the bad tide, not having many half-grown oaks here might be better. But then I'd at least plant oaks with the second forester.) → 15:20 I think you should pause the pumps during the drought so your crops don't die. - 15:36 Yup. → 20:40 The location for the levee is also strange. You could just push the bad water off the other side of the mountain, but no, you want to build a diversion on this side, hugging the mountain? → When you are short of beavers, during the drought you could pause the lumbermill (and as well when its output storage is full). Of course, then you should not forget to unpause it later. → You were running out of planks, as your lumbermill only had the built-in storage of 13. I'd suggest getting at least a small pile for planks, but if your log supply is more secure, also a large one.

You can now cap off bad water without the cap with using impermeable floors on top of overhangs which I know you are still a lot way away from where you’ll still need metal

→ That's the third series I watch on this map ... it seems to be somewhat popular for KZbinrs running U6 series. Both The Beard and Skye Storme did a run with the Folktails on the Experimental U6. The map changed since them a bit, with addition of several of these natural overhangs you keep finding (so I can't tell you what's under these in the mountain lake). Skye said it's the official map with the lowest amount of water - so good luck trying this on your hard settings. → For these two squares of Kohlrabi, just demolishing them would have been simpler. You had enough Kohlrabi planted and harvestable in this moment that two squares wouldn't make a difference. (I think your one farmhouse can't even keep up harvesting all before they grow back - might look a bit different after your beavers get a few walking and working speed bonuses.) → 25:50 You can pause the lumbermill, or at least reduce the number of workers, when you need your workers elsewhere and don't have a big need of planks (or are out of logs).

13:00 reminded me of something i saw on RCE channel . it seems if some trees are left uncut intermittently in the group, they cut area will again grow trees. apparently the remaining tree has seeds

Keeping a few trees uncut (or e.g. doing a striped or checkered cut order) is a valid strategy if you don't have enough wood to get to the forester (i.e. Inventor, lumber mill, power source, plus the forester itself, and everything you need to keep living until then). Here it was enough wood even before starting to cut the oaks, though just barely (9 logs/planks left).

18 beavers died of thirst while various dead trees were individually being selected for cutting, other way would have been to mark all trees in range for cutting in one shot, then beavers don't sit on their bums waiting for next tree selection. The beavers pumping water are also tasked with hauling the water to storage and during that time the water pumping stops . if all the water pumps have the ' prioritised by haulers' option set then this break in water pumping will not happen and water storage will fill up faster too. Also, large water pump employ 3 beavers in pump, so one could replace 3 separate small pumps with a large pump saving space

should i get this armour before i follow laezell to her "people"? becuase that is where i just had enough last time i got stuck n couldnt fight my way from them..i have now started over and have been to a few places at Level 6 that i just reached...But game seems much easier this time around so might be that i have started to learn how to play it better? Anyway i got the molds for weapons but no armour yet+only 1 metal to forge something...so is it easy to find armour mold n metal? i have not got to the forge yet,i was at a huge wall w traps everywhere and at the ned it was a "door" that sprayed fire out of it so i fly away when i get hit+tried another way around but couldnt platform all my characters to same location(its the levers u can use to move the platforms up n down)But where is that forge exactly(is it at the end of that huge wall with many traps(other side of the "door" that has fire sprayed out or what?? Im i getting closer? Thanks 4 this video..intresting

@8:21 the second damn you put was not needed. it actually helped the dynamite and metal maker get better power out of the water wheels. If you look at the wheels after it went in they speed up then slow way down because the bad water pulses between the two damns. If you left the side open all the time it would be better power production since it gets focused into one channel vs two.

now that we have dynamite, there is a nice trick I watched on another channel blast a few holes dotted around the water storage area so that even when the water from that area is released or dries up, the water in the holes we made will keep the surrounding green this helps us avoid crops dying in drought

to me it appears that badtide has more volume than water from sources. so needed additional paths to drain it out the new pond you've created also will give you good place for mangrove

please explore the haulers concept 'prioritise by haulers' option in the various workplaces. so that beavers can focus on pumping, farming, grilling, etc. all the time and moving goods to warehouse is done by other beavers.
