I addressed that omission in the video description. TLDR: very important for analyzing his reign in an academic context, but not so important for a 300 word super summary-especially if you compare his relatively inconsequential outcome with that of Domitian. Unfortunately the format of this series means I have to leave A LOT of stuff on the cutting room floor.

Yeah, for sure. Simply because I really cannot say a lot in the grand scheme of things, I approach the thesis for each video in terms of legacy: what they are most remembered for, and then I set about structuring the video in support of that thesis. This has the unfortunate side effect of snubbing unrelated parts of their life that aren't exactly in support of said thesis. Sometimes that means the omission of bad deeds, like in this case, and sometimes it means I end up painting a more negative picture than a longer, more nuanced essay would allow for-hence why I implore further reading for anyone who turns to my videos in order to learn about the emperors. They're a mighty fine starting point but by NO MEANS are they the be all end all.

I'm only up to Emperor number 14 out of a total of roughly 80 prior to the fall of the West. I've been doing this series for about a year and a half (I took a long hiatus, which I don't count). If we use that to calculate a figure of roughly 1.2 months per emperor-which is honestly quite unrealistic-I would get to the Byzantines after about six and a half years of non-stop work. All that's to say: Byzantines not guaranteed, but I'm almost certain that I'll start skipping emperors/combining multiple emperors into a single video by the time I get to the fourth and fifth centuries, so I might end up getting to 476 faster than anticipated.

Indeed. That's the one drawback of the 300 words format. Oftentimes I have to grossly oversimply things-especially if they involve a character who is not the focal point of the video.
