8:59 ...which is (part of) why I don't watch the news. Typical network hypocrisy at its best -- networks has or had censored subject matter that are violent in fictional shows, yet it's perfectly A-OK if it's the news that can present subject matter that is more violent.

7:54 That's an actual network airing from NBC's run of Hitchcock in the fall of 1985. The NBC "In Stereo" bug that was used until late 1985 is a dead giveaway.

EVIL! coincidence? i think not! all my old vhs tapes have porn on them. aahhh, precious memories. threw all my vhs tapes away. now all my porn is on dvds. man, the more things change the more they stay the same. thanks for the video.

3:15 Unusual to see a newscast where there are _four_ scroll-up lines for closed captions. Usually, there are only three such lines. And I think I'd like to see that newscast get up on KZbin.

Your apologizing for the past is ridiculous. Those "unflattering caricatures" are perfectly in line with the artist's style. Lulu isn't exactly a peach either and she engages in all sorts of questionable activities. What's wrong with shining shoes for $.5? That's a well paying job! Whoever you think you are protecting wouldn't be perturbed by these drawings, but some blue hair with a $100,000 political science degree will be upset, but they are bothered by anything and everything.
@ToddDolce26 күн бұрын
Yeah the whole apologetic stance for the past is ridiculous, tiresome and quite frankly unnecessary. "Most" mature people with an understanding of history and culture also understand that times were different along the journey through time. Learning from it is of course part of the process but apologizing about it or hiding it is without benefit. We all have the luxury in whatever present time we are in of making judgement calls on the past as we see fit. The irony of it all is knowing that decades and centuries from now we too will be judged by yet another generation who thinks they have all of the answers. It's just human nature.
@dupersuper193820 күн бұрын
@@ToddDolce It can get tiresome, but so can people who actually bother complaining about four seconds of easily skip-able title card put up by some one just trying to avoid flak for putting up cartoons with drawings of characters looking like they're from a minstrel show. KZbinrs just can't win...

Pretty sure this is 1976, at least in the early part of the video, as a) the TRU commercial says 1976 at the end, and b) BankAmerica card changed to VISA in '76, re: that ad. And c) Tomlin hosted SNL on 9/18/76. Thanks for uploading, it's awesome, but just thought I'd mention.

I hate to be that guy, but here’s the evidence I’ve found: -Research by my friend @bjdwsm shows that the 9/18/76 episode was rerun on NBC on 11/26/77 (this airing) and 5/23/81. - 6:34 The (first) SNL tie-in book came out in 1977. - 5:54 The Neil Diamond album was released on 11/11/77. - 14:07 There’s an ad for “A Doonesbury Special” which aired on NBC on Sunday 11/27/77 - the day after the 26th (which became the 27th at 12 AM, LOL). -There’s also quite a few holiday themed ads, to be expected during the weekend of Thanksgiving.

So Peggy Taylor was on duty at the KNBC booth at the time of this repeat. In New York, they alternated, sometimes changing shifts at midnight: namely, Bill Rippe and Fred Facey, though I seem to remember hearing Arthur Gary on duty at WNBC-TV during "SNL" on some nights (apparently, such as on this night - he did the promos heard before local station breaks) - and also, Bill Hanrahan.

Dude this is the greatest thing I have ever seen in my life. I myself have an ever growing collection of VHS tapes that have no labels. What make mine worse was I had this wild idea that buying up old shoulder boulder vhs home video cameras and using them to film all the way up into the late 20teens when i finally no longer could find new blank tapes. lmfao all the sticky stuff on the labels wore out and i cat get rid of the tapes because my childrens first steps on on some of those tapes as well as my great grand parents telling stories from the late 1800s to make it worse i have 100 of un labled cassette tapes and from when i was a little kid and my dad was a ham radio operator i have a few dozen unlabled 8 tracks he made when i was a babby. my grandpa left me his old real to real audio recorder and stacks of reels he made as a police officer and a soldiere post ww2. you are a true warrior actually gettig around to going thru your collection. i foulkd a company that would digitize for me but it would run 25$ an hour of footage plus an y extra time they had to repair any stuck reels and such. Hats off to you man. subscribed

oh and my grandmothers great uncle was in dealy plaza when kennedy was shot and it is possible one of the dozen video reel to reels my have been filmed that day and he was on the corner before the last turn facing the book depository. he without a doubt filmed that day but some of his collection was lost in the mid 70s and i personally have not seen anything that looks filmed that day in the small amount i have but they are so delecate i have not fully examined them until they can be properly copied just as a precaution. I know the importance of that film and i do at least have some help with proper archival storage. Part of my delay was due to spending the last 10 years digitizeing the family photos dating back to the civiil war. sorry about so many misspellings i just realized my auto check was turned off.

Looks like it may be an IEC 320 C1? It is hard to tell from the angle if there is any kind of relief or plastic moulding around the socket or if it is just a straight longs all around. Might be a C3, with the space to orient the cord in both directions? Either way, measuring the dimensions with a caliper should let you confirm something that fits.
@zepheris_6 ай бұрын
Looks like an IEC C10 socket. But the pins are round.
@zepheris_6 ай бұрын
After a quick Google. "The C9 is mostly used on audio equipment, including synthesisers, reel-to-reel tape machines, hifis, turntables etc. High-quality vintage sound equipment is long-lasting so the connector is still in demand. Another reasonably common use is in sewing machines and knitting machines. Manufacturers known to have used the IEC C9 are Akai, Marantz, Revox, Roland, Singer, Tandberg, and Telefunken." The corresponding appliance inlet is the C10.
