Awesome! Embarrassed to say I’ve never heard this song until Billy Strings sang it on Halloween. What a great setting you have!

This song always makes me depressed. It seems like its such a wonderful place in contrast to the 8-5 grind many people find themselves stuck in. Furthermore, it makes the song all the more saddening knowing the hardships were likely just as or more harsh for those who lived in poverty during the time this song originated from. Just a thought tho :) (will edit this comment later because i cant put my thoughts down clearly at the moment)

What do you have coming through your headphones? Friends of mine practice with a metronome in theirs
@BigTim53 күн бұрын
No metronome just monitor my voice and guitar. If you were to put a metronome on my tunes you would see much tempo variation within each tune. This is a feature not a bug, and artists like James Taylor use it extensively. Also my guitar is tuned down two full steps from standard. Thanks for your interest!😀

if you never sat on the side of the road in a no ride town for 3 days running low....you don't know. This song is as close as you will get. I will never forget the native american lady who finally got me the hell out....she was coming from a casino....and had just won. i sat in her passenger seat just listening....quietly thinking to myself..."$%^& Blue Lake"

I learned this song through my great grandfather. One of the last movies he enjoyed before he left this earth was Brother where art thou. It reminded him of his childhood. He loved it so much he was gifted the soundtrack one year for Christmas. He'd play it over and over again, And on that CD was harry mcclintocks big rock candy mountain. I heard it so much i began to memorize it.
