WOW! For context, that's just shy of 130 sheep an hour, or 65 sheep an hour each, or more than one sheep every minute, each man sheered!!!! Absolute respect!

When clipping sheep in your sleep becomes reality! Amazing feat by the pair. For the non shearers, many shearers having spent all day clipping end up dreaming of clipping more while sleeping. Any other jobs where you end up fully going through the motions over and over in your sleep?

Yup... when I was fifteen and worked Saturday nights in a really busy local Chinese restaurant... 2am long after closing and bed, I was still taking orders and fretting that table x needed whatever... in my sleep 🤣😵💫

That looked gruelling, looks hard enough sheering one sheep but over 1,500 in 24 hours......... just crazy. Well done Matt and James and thanks for filming and sharing Tim. Hope you and the family had a good weekend at the event.

Hi Tim,we've got 22 acres 5 fields,,boundary fence is ok...no fencing with internal hegdes to divide fields.....just wondering is there any good government grants to help with funding fencing and hedge planting......great videos..

CS grants will do both BN11 hedge grant and FG2 fence to protect it.

Do they lose the competition if they make cut what bleeds?
@TheshepherdukАй бұрын
No they get a certain amount of points if they cut the sheep, which are then checked over out the back and treated if needs be. The person with the least amount of points wins over all

OH Please,, the tractor is doing all the work. When I was 13 my dad made me help him fence the boundary of our new 40 acre property. ALL by hand.

Tim you put the units on from behind the cow. can not kick backwards I used to work on a dairy farm I would rather shit on than go to the dentists washing powder is cheaper than new teeth
@JohntyNichАй бұрын
That’s not quite true, A) some a lot of systems were designed to put the units on from the side and b) there is less power when the cow kicks forward than backwards. Parlours have bars to prevent a cow kicking backwards. They can potentially kill if kicking at full stretch and speed. Think herbivores protecting themselves from wolves and how they do it. You can generally dodge forward kicks hence why cows outside of a parlour were traditionally milked from the side.
@fionaprovan1763Ай бұрын
Hi Kevin We can still get kicked in the face milking from behind, I too have seen boken teeth, noses and cracked cheek bones milking from behind usually from the hock (when you are working at the same level as the cow rather than in a pit in a herringbone parlour) probs more so than from the side. This particular cow needed to be milked from the side a)due to her bag/teat placement b)the way the temporary milking area/shed set up ie cubicle step cow didn't fit lengthways, concrete trough etc c) The trolley milker didn't lend itself to milking from behind in this particular set up.

Great memories of shearing sheep about 25 years ago. I used to catch the sheep for the shearer (gadding) the shearer used to earn about £2 a sheep I would get 20p and I was definitely doing the hardest job. Not complaining they were some of the best times of my life growing up.❤
