Thanks for the tutorial :) I am still confused about certain actions in a battle however. For example I am attacking a player in a hex, I have 1 rock strider and they have 2 rock striders... do I roll one battle dice and my player rolls two (for his two rock striders) and if so do you do this simultaneously?

I reached level 10 with divine intervention (called it out and moved my piece to level 10), and THEN my friend played Duck of Doom to reduce me to level 8. I thought that was illegal because I hit level 10 and the game ended, but my friends insisted he could do that. Was I right or is he?

I REALLY like your sliding scales! I think they capture just about every element of a game and give us a good idea of whether we'd like it, even with no further information. I plan on playing for the first time in a couple of days, but I was wondering if there might be a way to mitigate the advantage of that first attack by giving the other player extra army building points. How important is it to keep the first player role a mystery until AFTER setup?

I got pocket battles as a gift and the manual to me was kinda confusing since I never played any tabletop wargames. Seems clear, if you want a strategy game with optimization this is not the game for you. If you want a fun game with a theme you can play with, this is a great game.
