Nice video as usual. By fortune the flight dynamics of air rsfts in sims must be very benign, that tonneaux after take off woild cause to kill yourself immediatly in RL. In an heavy aircraft like the Beech 18 you must have enough speed to do such things. After take off tonneaux are possible only on modern acro aircrafts with lot of power.

Thank you! I'm glad you like the video! You might be surprised about how capable the Beech 18 is =) You might want to check out this video of Matt Younkin flying his airshow routine in his Beech 18. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nmLUhK15o9-LrLs At around 13:00 you'll see him doing a roll right after takeoff. If you look at his airspeed indicator he does it at a similar speed I do it at in the sim. I agree it can be a risky maneuver in a heavy or underpowered aircraft but it's not impossible. John Mohr also rolled his underpowered 220 hp Stearman right after takeoff, there are also a few pilots who roll or even snap roll an AT-6 right after takeoff.

@@vintagesimulations the standard Beech 18 is not certified for acrobatics. It is msde to take passengers not for doing acro. You cannot fly inverted without a proper fuel injection system. This red/ black Beech is highly modified for acro.

@@antonioiozzi291 Sorry but that's not true. Yes, the Beech 18 was never built to do aerobatics, and I probably wouldn’t attempt it in real life, as it is very easy to overstress the airframe, but it is possible to do so. In the video I linked you above both Matt and his crew chief Jeff Gibbs get interviewed and talk about modifications to the airframe. The only modifications to it are the added smoke system, more lights for his night airshow, spar straps (which are a requirement for all airworthy Beech 18s and are also modeled on the sim version). The only performance enhancing modification is that his interior is lighter than the one you see in MSFS, which is why I only added a minimal fuel load to keep the weight down. His engines are stock carbureted R-985s. It's perfectly possible to do aerobatics without a fuel injection system, you just have to keep it positive. It's not unusual to see Stearmans, Tiger Moths, AT-6s and many other airplanes with carbureted engines to do aerobatics, including hammerhead turns, spins, snap rolls and rolls. A friend of mine does aerobatics with his stock Stearman all the time. Again, you just have to keep it positive, if not the engine will cough and lose power and if you keep it inverted for too long it’ll quit.

That'll be quite an endeavor! But I'm not sure the Trimotor has enough range for that trip. The leg from Narsarsuaq to Reykjavik alone is close to 800 miles. I'm not sure how much range Tukan's Trimotor has, but normally a Trimotor has a range of around 500-550 miles. Maybe you can pretend you're flying with ferry tanks and add fuel on the way =)

This is great, but has some faults. The throttle should be fully open before take off.. The scout has only 1 spot light under the cockpit. The red tail light is far too dull needs to be brighter. And the light rotates not strobes. The roof is not dark enough. I love the Scout and this is a great addition and I will fly it alot. Please let's put these things right

I agree it's a great rendition of the Scout. I think most of these things are pretty minor flaws, especially for the prize and so far, Inibuilds has been quite good at updating their aircraft =) I also have to be honest I'm no expert on helicopter flying, but I did open the throttle fully before takeoff, maybe the governor simulation needs some fine adjusting, or I missed something. For the videos I normally don't use a checklist. Like @batterby7675 writes the 2nd spotlight is a morse light.

Better or worse than the Asobo Trimotor?
@LeCapitaineHaddock
@LeCapitaineHaddock 5 күн бұрын
The 3D model is much much better than the Asobo / Aeroplane Heaven one. There's just one cockpit option, but it's a nice old-school upgrade. A step-up from the 1920's panel without being too modern. There's a full Indiana Jones interior too.
@vintagesimulations
@vintagesimulations 5 күн бұрын
Like @LeCapitaineHaddock writes, the 3D model is worlds ahead of the Asobo/Aeroplane Heaven one. It's much more authentic and a lot more detailed. There are also plenty of paint schemes included of actual aircraft, including some airworthy examples. The cockpit is a depiction of a typical modernized 70s-80s restoration. The flight models are quite similar. The Tukan Trimotor performs a bit better during takeoff and climb, being a more powerful 5AT model instead of the 4AT depicted by Aeroplane Heaven. They are similar in roll and rudder authority, but the elevator is a bit more responsive. Neither of them is perfect. Both don't have a lot of systems depth to them and the soundsets could use some work. There are also some bugs like the yoke moving very slowly in the cockpit or the inop Hobbs meter. Tukan already mentioned that there will be updates and upgrades in the future like for example a new cabin interior for the military version. I'd say if you want a more authentic depiction of a Trimotor go with Tukans one, but don't expect a perfect/flawless aircraft....at least not yet.

Thank you! I'm glad you like it =) I had some trouble with it too. On one of my first flights, I wanted to see how good the engine damage model is and see how long it takes for them to fail if you run them to cold, hot or over boost them. Ever since the right engine didn't have enough oil in it and wouldn't run properly. And I just couldn't get the oil tank to fill up, which resulted in parking the Beech for months. I'm happy to say in my case it was a user error. Yesterday I finally read the manual and found out to fill up the oil tanks you must pull out the oil shutoffs, fill in the oil and then put the shutoffs back in. Since then, it works without any issues, and I can't stop flying it. It's probably one of the best twins in the sim =) What trouble did you have with it?

CAS listed the tailwheel position as a known issue he still wants to fix =) It really is fantastic, I can't stop flying it. Hope you'll enjoy it!

Thank you very much! I'm glad you like it =) I sadly have none of those, but I can imagine it would bring the experience to a whole new level.
