V3s are very useful in the Soviet campaigns though. Sovs don't have anything else that can clear garrisons until the Battle Lab. The AI just can't do shit against long ranged units, and you can just snipe an unaware tank with them. Units have problems reacting when hit from outside of their range. And they're great against deployed GIs.
