The backdoor reverse Jordan did at 13:17 was the best move of the 1991 finals in my opinion. The late sports caster George Micheal from George Michaels sports machine said the same thing after the Bulls won the 1991 NBA finals. George had a nice sports show.

I dont know but i think that lakers team was a better team than bulls, you change magic for kobe and i think they could have won that series. Magic is not better than kobe and this is the prove of that. Kobe with worthy, sam Perkins, AC Green , that Divac , Byron Scott and many others good players on that lakers team, kobe would have won ir without a doubt

No they weren’t. Everyone was all around the same ages 25-31. Lakers finished 2nd in the west. Magic: 31 Perkins: 29 Worthy:29 Divac: 27 AC green: 27 Old where?? This team was in the middle of yet another dynasty

With the Bulls winning their 3 straight at the Forum in the Finals, it was justice for them, cause in prior yrs, they was 0-13 in the playoffs at the Forum vs Lakers, and overall, 0-4 in playoff series matchups vs the Lakers, they're the Western Conference team that has given the Bulls more playoff series losses, so it was only fitting that they win their finals vs the Lakers in 5 games, cause of those defeats, while the rest of their titles, they won in 6.

Only Magic has averaged more apg in a Finals series than Jordan did in 91. Granted, Magic has the top 6 or 7 spots, but then interestingly, it’s Jordan in this series.

James Worthy did not played the following game finals not sure if it was due to injury. So there was an imbalance trap defense on Jordan since, Lakers got sweeped from Game 2 to 5 Bulls won the '91 NBA Championship.

This marked the first time that the Magic era Lakers lost game 3 after a 1-1 split, 5-0 in game 3s previously after 1-1 in the first 2 games of the Finals in 80, 82, 84, 85, and 88, also the first time the Bulls had a series lead vs the Lakers in 5 tries, and ended their 0-13 winless playoff Forum record vs Lakers.

The Bulls against all odds came back from a potential rout, enduring a 18-2 Lakers run to slowly battle their way back to force the game into OT. MJ who was anonymous for most of the game and with Pippen having fouled out of the game, he stepped-up his game and saved his best for last including that jumper which tied the game and several clutch layups in the extra period. This crucial win turned the tide around for the Bulls and gave them control of the series.

Yep, Shannon had exactly ONE field goal on MJ the whole game. Plus the Lakers built a 13 point lead in Game 3 when Pippen was on Magic, meaning Magic had figured Pippen out after 1 game.

Pax was a tack driver, he ALWAYS hit the shot when it counted. MJ figured that out this year and took advantage. This was the year he figured out how to use his teammates the best possible way to win.

I was also 9th grade and living in L.A. Yes, it’s too bad we lost this one! Of all the Lakers trips to the finals that we lost, this is the one that I would love to have. If you would’ve asked me at the time, I would’ve said 89. But looking back in retrospect, I would take the 91 finals for us to have won! Because it would change the ENTIRE Magic versus Michael debate. … And let’s be fair, Worthy and Scott were both out by series end, and not playing at 100%. If it was reversed with Worthy and Scott healthy, but instead, Pippen and Paxon were out… Lakers win the series, hands-down!

@TiltBrook The main reason this Bulls championship was shorter than the rest, cause the Lakers beat the Bulls more times in the playoffs than any team has from the Western Conference, and the main reason the Bulls won 3 straight at the Forum to finish it, is because in the prior yrs, The Bulls all time was 0-13 in the playoffs at the Forum before 91.

I think significance of this game is so underrated. In a way it's one of the most important games in NBA history. It looked like Lakers had it, Divac was proclaimed man of the match, and if they did won here pressure on Chicago would be enormous in next game, they already lost home advantage and would be faced in next game in LA to go down 3-1 if losing, against a dynasty that played 9 finals in 12y. I don't think any team at that time ever returned from losing 3-1. This game was an end to Showtime after this final and start of 90s Bulls and Jordan as goat. I still think that Bulls would have won the title but if they lose this game, I bet it would go to 7 and would be way more memorable final.

That end of 4th quarter sequence is so underrated. The divac and 1 was so hype but jordan hitting a contested pull up middy to tie it with 3 seconds left is SO clutch
