I did a ski season after watching this video and I’ll try to give my perspective. Yes. The job is shit. You’ll work long weeks and it’s a lot harder than working in the Uk. The pay is also terrible. The reality is, you’re working for a British company overseas because the locals won’t work in the same condition you agree to. That said, you’ll meet loads of interesting people, you’ll make a bond with all the other brits because your all in the same boat. The days you have off are awesome and at the end of the season you’ll be an awesome skier/snowboarder. The reality is you’re signing up to do crap job so you can get your ski pass. If you have that mentality you’ll have an awesome time. My advice to any prospective seasonaires is expect long hours and shit pay. But the friends you’ll make and the stories will more than make up for it.

Can anyone tell me the best season jobs, I’ve got one as a kitchen assistant/ night porter in courchevel. I heard you can work your way up so if anyone knows of one which is nice hours, not too hard or early?

Was an HA with Inghams in Courchevel in 2015. Was one of the hardest and best things i've ever done.

about £1 but then plus food, accommodation, flights, ski pass plus equipment hire which would cost thousands.

best video i’m looking into doing this as a gap year choice before or after uni and there are so little videos on youtube about it so thankyou! was the food the hotel provided decent enough? and how long is a typical job season placement with Inghams? :)

Hey bro, i've got my interview for inghams next week. Could you tell me what sort of questions they ask during the interview process? Loved the video btw
@davisonmartinez99386 жыл бұрын
mine was a group interview, they judge you mostly on the pre interview tasks like the speech and the presentation, they asked me what would be the biggest challenge of my job, what id learnt on my cooking course etc. My advice would be to just practice and nail the preinterview tasks and just go in with a really positive attitude and they should get a good impression of you

Very nice video. I worked in a ski lodger in Australia, the job was like you had in Austria, but we worked everyday...gosh, this was my working holiday in Australia and though was a ok job for the winter. It's was a bit stress, however, we had time to run and enjoy the city. Unfortunately I could ski only once, lift tickets are very expensive there. But in the end my season job worth it.

Eugh, sorry if I'm replying too late to this: If you hadn't heard anything in May I wouldn't worry, I found out about my job in June. If you 'still' haven't heard by today, give them a call! :)

Hi there, it's me (only it's real me, check out a video on this channel if you don't believe me haha.), but yeah, so before I wen't on my ski season I had decided I wasn't going to go to uni, and therefore I'd had the chance to try my hand at a few things. Prior to my interview (which was in May), I had been working in payroll for just over two years, and was about to go travelling to Mexico and Cuba, as well. Before that I had worked in a fruit and veg shop. But this in no way meant I was more able, suitable or likely to get a job than anyone else in my interview, or anyone else on my season. They looked to take you by face value. Did we look happy, like team-players, and motivated? If so, then they were happy. Everyone in my interview got a job (we all added each other on Facebook) and even though some of us were a little more experienced, like myself, others were fresh-faced school leavers! On my season there was a guy called Kev who was 36, and three people who had their 18th birthdays out there! Don't worry about your experience, just make sure you give off the right "aura", and that you look motivated! hope this helps. :)

+Chris Bird Thanks for the detailed reply, doing my final year of uni this year but it's something I've been thinking about for a while to do when I finish. Cheers again

No worries man, definitely worth it as long as you go in valuing experience over money :) If you want to be a bartender instead of a hotel assistant like I was, you'll likely need bar experience (depending on how big your hotel is etc.). Good luck!

Heya everyone. You may have noticed, but this channel never really got anywhere. I'm currently working on a new channel, but after I uploaded this things got a little crazy. Anyway, my point is, if anyone has a question about working a ski season, email my actual e-mail on [email protected] or post a comment an I'll reply to it on my actual youtube account where I sit for days watching episodes of GMM and Pewds. Cheers, have awesome seasons if you decide to go for it!
