These 3 distros are all Debian-based, but not "Debian". You might as well just use Debian, or at best, LMDE. Fedora, for me, won me over and i've never used anything else. Been using Fedora for just over a year :)

you can find gimp in every single app store iv ever seen, no need to touch a terminal for that. most times the appstores will also have the drivers and lil bits and bobs you need to get started

Copy any errors reported in the terminal and pop into chatgpt. It will fix the error quickly, giving you the correct terminal commands. Using this method, I never have to move on from errors in linux anymore.

I like Zorin, but I prefer Linux Mint. Zorin isn't completely free. Linux Mint is completely free. I have been using Linux Mint for years. It's a great Linux distro and it's fairly easy to use.

About a month ago I dumped Windows and moved to Linux Mint Mate full time. No regrets. Why did I do it? Because Windows 11 will take data mining to a whole new level. I did add another hard drive and put Windows 10 on it for those times when I just have to use Windows for something. You can do a dual boot, but it's way easier to do if you add Linux to a Windows system. I was trying to add Windows to a Linux system. I tried to get the bootloader configured for it, but gave up. So at boot time I press F11 to choose the boot device and just select the Windows hard drive. Works fine. As an alternative you can run a Windows session under Virtual Box but it's a hassle when you need to use flash drives or CDROM. Another alternative is to use Wine, which allows you to run Windows programs. But the cleanest choice is to put a Windows install on another hard drive. Or if you have another computer or laptop laying around stick Windows on that. Microsoft is not your friend.

Some other valid Linux choices are Nobara, which is just Fedora with some stuff added focused on gaming, like Steam and Lutris, and Bazzite, which is also focused on gaming, or if you're not as concerned about gaming, there is Linux Mint, though you can still install Steam and Lutris from their package database and do some gaming on Linux Mint. I've run Manjaro. It isn't a terrible choice, but I did run into some minor challenges. I currently run Nobara, and I find that I prefer it over Manjaro. It resolved driver issues with my "all in one" printer/scanner device. The driver was available for the printer in Manjaro, but only if I downloaded it from the AUR. However, that only got the printer working, but not the scanner function. I would have had to jump through some hoops to get it running. I was experiencing performance issues with my internet connection when I was on Manjaro, so I switched to Nobara. That and a BIOS update and my ethernet and wifi were running at maximum. Switching to Nobara also resolved the printer driver issue. I didn't have to do anything, the printer and scanner just worked. I think that was mainly because Nobara is based on Fedora, and Fedora is more business focused in a sense because it is associated with Red Hat, so hardware support for the printer was present by default. Most printers will have built in support in most flavors of Linux, but my printer was an odd one out, except with Nobara/Fedora. I haven't tried Bazzite yet, but I am rebuilding an older computer and plan to try it out. I've heard it recommended by a few KZbinrs. Obviously, that isn't an exhaustive list of Linux distros, or even of popular, easy to use distros. Another thing to keep in mind is that there are many choices for desktop environments, but the two main ones are KDE and Gnome. You almost have to just try them both to figure out which one you enjoy most. I found that I prefer KDE. Linux Mint offers their own desktop known as Cinnamon, which is a decent DE as well. There are other alternatives as well, but I think they are less popular and are, sometimes, somewhat niche. XFCE is a lightweight DE, but it is very basic feeling as a result. If you have a system with limited resources, that's an option that will make it easier for the system to handle. MATE is somewhat nicer and not as resource heavy as Gnome and KDE. If you have a decent computer, though, Gnome, KDE and Cinnamon should not cause any performance issues. They feel more polished and are more attractive. The computer nerds, or power users might be inclined to try what are known as Window Managers instead of using a desktop environment. Research that yourself. For the average person, those aren't relevant. Just stick with one of the main desktop environments.
