You are known by the company you keep. Stephane Grappelli and Martin Taylor - stunning musicianship. "E voila!"

Thanks for this, Martin. Amazing, that at his age, ripe with experience, he was still playing better, and better! When you love what you play, and being who he is, the genius sounds even sweeter!

The tone Stephane had. No other violinist has it.

He usually sounds like _three_ players at once. Mindbogglingly good yet again.

Huh,...I've been playing guitar for 48 years and after watching this masterful video I have come to the conclusion that I indeed know,...NOTHING,... about playing the instrument in comparison to this very humbling performance by the GREAT Martin Taylor. I must graciously and humbly now make my way back to the Woodshed and not surface again to the outside world with axe in hand until thy skills are honed to a greater degree of proficiency.

I was hoping for a rendition of I've Got Rhythm where SG continually changes key, and MT has to keep with him. I remember hearing an excerpt of it on My Music (BBC) over 20 years ago, and I have the CD of that piece - and others - in my possession to this day.

Both unbelievable players...astonishing if we are honest. A little bit silly and insulting to compare him to to a Mick Hucknall.

While listening,I started thinking about the people in the 30's driving around Northern Jersey and NYC area with the original version of this by Ellington, blasting on their radios! And maybe some saying to their passenger"hey, why don't we catch some good Jazz in Harlem tonight?"

Fascinating that when Stephane was told about the kid busking, he said that people don't open their windows anymore, don't really LISTEN. He would have croaked immediately had he been around when Twitter and Facebook took off. His comment is spot on.
