does it come in 4k allso ?

It sits rights next to me nightly. I play it more than my consoles. Rog ally x and the nintendo switch for me. Once you get use to the quirks on the ally x - you start to love it.

I have the Rogue Ally X docked playing FFXI on my 4k tv with full mods w/ wireless mouse and keyboard. Amazing... also overwatch 2 plays great!

I think the most convenient middle ground between original reproduction and modern hardware would be buying a small crt monitor which can usually be bought for around 10-20U$D and its going to be even better than the best crt tv's from back then, and then use PCSX2 emu on software rendering and run the games at native 640x480 (and 640x480 interlaced if you happen to have an intel cpu with integrated graphics, you get native 480i) and play the games like that, 15" crts are not very large actually, if your desktop isnt too small it should fit in fine, and you can get rid of it easily when you're done playing ps2 games. PS2 games on modern lcd panels are going to look awful, that is nothing at all what they looked like on tubes, its just garbage.

I just bought one, and it's my very first PC handheld and I'm beyond impressed. I was in your shoes looking for a PC/console for living room and grab and go, easy to carry. And may I say Nintendo switch emulation is incredible on this, my steam library awesome 😎 and PlayStation AAA games porting to PC it's a no BRAINER, I look at it as a good investment!

Asus wont be releasing a new handheld device until next year if that. Kinda makes me happy. The Ally X is still 3rd best out of the big 3. No need for a new one. I kinda like that!

Just got mine. One of the best decision!

I traded my Ally X for the Vivobook S16 with a Ryzen 370 and an 890 GPU. Now, I can enjoy all my turn-based JRPGs on a large OLED screen with a proper controller. Best part? It was priced the same as the Ally X-an absolute no-brainer!

They don’t make durable consoles like the old ones anymore. My gameboy sp was still kicking too. It survived my little self throwing it against walls when I couldn’t beat levels and everything.

I was in a very similar position. I wanted a game but getting on the console just seemed so hard. If all you’ve ever owned is consoles like me the ROG ally x will blow your mind. If you have history with PC gaming, you may not be as impressed. Although I do miss 4K, I never was able to game 100 fps at 120 hz for cod and the rig allows that with about 2.5 hours-3 hours of game time. I got mine for 700 in November have not touched my series x since. Sad but the truth

I have the first ally and way prefer it to the legion go. The ally controls feel better and the vrr screen is good.

Not buying it in 2025 if it doesn’t have 32 of RAM. I have seen enough.

You can also use the right stick as a mouse and the r1 and the r2 are your right and left click hope that helps when browsing.

I wont buy any handheld with v.r.r ..if i were to upgrade. Msi claw 8 ai. Legion go is not an option.. i wouldnt mind an aser blaze 8 , but the pricing is stupid. And your getting the same performance as the z1 extreme....$900??? At least with msi , you get better performance and way better speakers... probably the best speakers ever on a handheld.

An Xbox is not more powerful! Lol do yourself a favor and download bazzite " steam os"....it's just like steam . Or dual boot it , and run both. The legion go is bad, and the speaker are garbage!!! The ally X was easily the best choice . Or you could of just bought the OG ally and do a battery upgrade for $60 ...74 watt battery fits inside with a little modding...very easy. Thats what I did with my ally og . Battery, bazzite, and a huge 2tb SSD. ..its perfect

I love my Ally X. I had the Legion Go, and the OG Ally Z1 Extreme. Picked mine up on Black Friday for $100 off, and sold the other 2. In do miss the larger screen on the legion Go, but otherwise the battery, extra RAM, and 2280 M.2 SSD are way better to have. I take mine to work, and on trips with zero worry about the battery life. It's a game changer.

The screen is too small. Works well but when playing games like COD or any first person shooter that has light and dark mixtures throughout the 7 inch screen just doesnt cut it. Happy I kept my LeGo screen size makes a huge difference. Returning mine!

I got mines used a few months ago for $550 it’s been an absolute dream! I sold my PS5 and went all in with the Ally X since it’s been my first step in PC Gaming. I even bought a RTX 4070 Super to dock as an eGPU and installed a 4TB SSD lol. Now that FSR2 and Lossless Scaling 3 is available you can a huge boost in performance and FPS solely using the handheld and iGPU.

Unless you got bank or can't wait, I wouldn't. And I got mine 2 months ago. Might want to wait a couple of months when more new stuff are announced. Usually the older model drops prices then.

Playing poe 2 on med/high 1080p settings at 50 to 60 fps with lossless of course. But on a hand held. Awesome.

Good video. After the learning curve, honestly, the WIndows handheld is the way to go. I have the OG Ally and wish it had the extra RAM. It's a very capable machine and VRR is the main reason I bought it. The Deck 's hardware is too weak these days, and no VRR. My Steam Deck collects dust, unfortunately. It's a great emulation machine.

Yea its way too expensive for what it is. $1242 after tax here in Canada. Nonsense....meanwhile the OG Ally Z1 extreme is always on sale here every month it seems at $599....they cant get rid of em.

Having both ROG Ally X, and the Steam Deck OLED. I much prefer the Steam deck. It’s by far the best and the most immersive experience I’ve ever had.

lenovo legion Go for the win the 9inch screen kick stand detachable controllers and reverse charging comes in handy especially when using a portable monitor.
