I really enjoyed this video and came across it almost by accident. I was at Swansea 1967-70 studying for a joint honours in sociology and anthropology. I took part in the protests on the Mumbles Road in 1968 or 69 after two students had been knocked down crossing the road. We stopped the traffic, though some cars tried to drive through. When the police turned up we all dispersed. And so it went on until the iron bridge was built across the road. I remember the General Body meetings with the fervour of revolution in the air with over a thousand crammed into the refectory and Jack Straw (leader of NUS at the time) coming down to speak to us. This led to the occupation of the registry building though I seem to recall it lasted longer than the one night, and the stop the tour campaign. I was on the march but not in the ground. I remember going to the magistrates court to hear some of the cases, most of which were thrown out due to lack of evidence. Like you, Jeff, I became an upstanding member of society after I left. They were indeed heady days.

Very good video! It has helped me a lot to understand this topic of hedging that I am currently studying in the ICPNA Advanced 11 course. Now, I finally understand that "hedging" is about using the correct word to demonstrate our assumptions or opinions on a topic in which we are not 100% sure, that is, to express uncertainty or a claim towards something. And for this, in this video they taught me some expressions like "probably", while in my ICPNA class they taught me others like "certainly, usually, often" and others like "Appears to be, believe, maybe". Now I can understand this topic better and put it into practice in my writings and in my daily life. Again, I greatly appreciate the information provided.
