Your video is really inspiring. I always wanted to play an instrument but I don't know if I'm good for it. I tried drums and I really loved it but you can't play drums in a flat... I tried guitar, as a metal listener, but I'm not getting into it. I think the piano is the most beautiful instrument... I would love to play piano but reading a partition give me headache lol... I'm not a classic guy but the first time I have heard moonlight sonata 1st movement, I had a blast.. I hope I can play this someday in my life.. Sorry for my english
@luisgracaКүн бұрын
Hey man, great English haha Indeed it's the most beautiful. Reading music is useful to understand the dynamics but you can learn it without it. Hans Zimmer does not read music and yet he's a legend. If you want to learn classical without sheet music, make sure you listen to a lot of recordings. Find the ones you love the most and copy the parts you like. If you think other parts would sound better another way, tweak them and try to develop your own style. However, it would be very helpful to watch videos on the correct arm / wrist technique and how to play with relaxed hands. That's one of the things you should get right from the beginning. Here's a good starting point - kzbin.info/www/bejne/fpnLaaOGfbGbfJIsi=l_4fR-VvQZu1Ga-- And of course you can learn how to play by ear if reading music is not for you. Good luck 🤝🏼

Haha, thanks. It may seem impressive but now I realize it lacks a lot of musicality. Anyone can memorize how to press the keys, but to play the pieces with emotion and musicality is something else - it's the true goal. I've been working on it since uploading this video

Composed in Schubert's final year, Moment Musical No. 3 is perhaps the most popular of his Six Moments Musicaux. It reminds me of children playing joyfully and carefree. While learning it, I listened to many recordings, but David Fray's and Seong-Jin Cho's stood out by far - very different interpretations, yet they both capture something special. I also used Antune's tutorial for guidance, so I can't help but picture horses trotting when I listen to the left hand rhythm 🐎 Though it seems simple, Schubert layered in rich harmonies that make it challenging to execute with good musicality. I tried to use the pedal minimally throughout the whole piece and to bring out different voicings in the last few bars. I hope you enjoy it. Would it be helpful if I shared the sheet music with my fingerings? PS: Had to reupload this video due to some MIDI issues

Once you discovered classical pieces, I spent the whole video thinking ‘please discover Rachmaninoff’ but, alas, you never did. My friend you are very talented, you have a natural ability that is impressive to watch. If I can offer any criticism from one amateur player to another, I feel your playing lacks emotion. I think your definition of a good piano player (which you aspire to be) is technically difficult pieces that would impress the average person. But as musicians we want to move people. I urge you to learn Rachmaninoff’s opus 32 no. 10. Commit it to memory so deeply that you can start focusing on adding emotion and character to the piece. It’s one thing to memorize the notes of a song, it’s another level to express how you feel about the piece because you are absolutely right, when you enjoy a composition you’re more motivated to perfect it. I really hope you learn that song, and I look forward to seeing it on your channel!
@luisgraca4 күн бұрын
Thanks a lot! Indeed I never listened to Rachmaninoff much, but one of my goals for next year is to learn his Élegie Op.3 No.1. I will check the one you recommended as well 🤝🏼 And yes, I agree my playing had no emotion haha. I have been working on it now that I'm back to learning classical 🎶
@luisgraca4 күн бұрын
Just listened to Op.32 No.10, very beautiful indeed. Thank you, I'll add it to my long list 📜 If you have any other Rachmaninoff suggestions, let me know
@gobcoitus92524 күн бұрын
All of his Preludes are enjoyable and varying degrees of difficulty. My all time favorite piece and the first piece I pushed myself to try and perfect is Chopin’s opus 55 no. 1, you should check it out! Keep it up man, the satisfaction of nailing something you’re learning is a great feeling!
@gobcoitus92524 күн бұрын
Rachmaninoff’s opus 23 no. 5 in G minor is a classic, and the middle section is so utterly beautiful, worth learning for that part alone.
@gobcoitus92523 күн бұрын
Last tip I promise: when you find a song you like, listen to as many different arrangements of it as you can. You’ll start to get a feel for how you prefer a piece to be played. Maybe one performer plays it too rigidly, or this guy rushes that part which you think should be played with more hesitation…develop your own style depending on how you feel the piece should progress.
