Did you start with 2strand twist

What state do you live in? Do you perform microlocks on others?

There are sooo many “rules” when it comes to microlocs ie you have to come every 4/6/8 weeks and must interlock. I’m on my third and final set. I started with interlocking but after researching retwists for microlocs I decided to switch. I have 140 waist length microlocs and shaved sides. I didn’t like how my head hurt during/after reties. My last retie was May and I’ve had two retwists since then. I think people should do what works for them. There is more than one way to do something. Thank you for posting. You were one of the reasons I switched!!

Hey love! You mentioned that you want to try your best to end vertically right, what if the loc is still a little lose and you can only get another 2 out of the full 4 points? Go for the 2 west and east or don’t go at all if you can’t get the full 4 turns? Keep me posted! I hope this question wasn’t too confusing

When you say "retwist," the o you mean switching to palm-rolling or something else?

I’m thinking of starting retwisting too. Does this particular gel make your locs heavy at all? I do like how light and fluffy my microlocs feel with no product with reties so just wondering if the texture changes a lot. Love your locs!

I have microlocs and I absolutely hate a fresh retie look. I love my roots to be fuller. I wash my hair and moisturize regularly. And I do finger comb through my locs weekly and separate any that have started to grow together. My loctician is teaching me to retie my own locs and actually recently suggested I get a different stylist since I like to go so long between reties.

I am so happy I ran across you. I was debating on switching from my Microlocs to traditional just because the length of time my reties were taking every 6wks to 8 wks were too much for me. It’s nice to have the option to just retwist. My scalp is so inflamed right now because of my autoimmune issues as well. I am only 7 months in to my journey and honestly love my micros but was willing to give them up. Just taking a break from reties

I'm so happy I came across this video. Your locs are beautiful and so inspiring. ✨🌹 I've recently started my own microlocs 2 months ago (I started with 3 strand plait) and I decided to use the retwisting method as maintenance. It's what I did with my traditonal locs in the past. I also started struggling with a small case of alopecia that led me to cutting my them off completely, so choosing this method is a way of me being extra mindful of what my scalp and hair can/can't handle during this new phase as they're much smaller this time around. Anyway, tomorrow literally makes a month since my first retwist and they have been in a protective style since. I'm not entirely sure what to expect after this point and sometimes I get a little worried that they might not loc successfully and I should maybe consider the interlocking method instead. But then I hear that little voice at the back of my head telling me "We are sticking to the plan. " And that serves as a great reminder as to why I chose the method in the first place. I will continue to move forward in that manner and just let her do her thing. Now after seeing this video I genuinely cannot wait to see how my journey unfolds. Thank you! ✨🤍
