As a counterpoint, Poland was also subjected to the shock therapy in 1990 (our prime minister was directly advised by Jeffrey Sachs, the author of the concept of shock therapy), and has more or less stuck to neoliberal policies after that. Now, in 2024, the people's standard of living is incomparably higher vs year 1990. The policies have basically worked really well for us.

Neolibralism has infected the US political system on both sides (The Democratic and Republican party) The only difference is the Democratic party advocates increased government spending when it suits their needs. Neolibralism Definition: 1. a political approach that favors free-market capitalism, deregulation, and reduction in government spending. 2. Neoliberalism is contemporarily used to refer to market-oriented reform policies such as "eliminating price controls, deregulating capital markets, lowering trade barriers" and reducing, especially through privatization and austerity, state influence in the economy. Any objective logical individual can see both parties largely fit these definitions and neither has ever stopped the Neolibralism agenda except for when the bill/policy directly goes against their own interests which is the exception to the norm of solidifying Neolibralist subservience and measures!

Given that to realize surplus value, the system needs an influx of money (exports, credit), doesn't that mean that commodities can actually be sold above their price of production, and therefore the fundamental tenant of exchange of equivalents drops, falsifying the theory of of labor value? This of course would invalidate also the theory of surplus value. Take into account that fractional banking is constantly creating money from air, creating the possibility of inflated prices. I've always believed that the key to the functioning of the capitalist system is credit, debt. Ultimately, it would be public debt the savior. Notice how the financial system had been developed in Italy mainly well before industrial capitalism arose.

1:09:01 "Differences in wealth are not simply differences in the size of your house and so on. Differences in wealth are differences in the kinds of freedoms that you have. So a society dedicated to a notion of equal freedom has to take wealth inequality very seriously." 59:02 "Countries that are highly unequal devote a significant fraction of their labor force to what Arjun Jayadev from UMass and I call 'guard labor' - that is, the labor which is dedicated to essentially maintaining order. The United States devotes much more of our labor to that than do the more equal European societies. It's a waste." 1:12:15 "Inequality is actually vulnerable. *Even in America*, inequality is vulnerable when it gets to a very high level. Because there's just too many people who benefit even from poorly designed policies of redistribution - much less well-designed ones."

"The economy is doing fine, but the people aren't." The issue is - "those people not doing fine" are most probably LACKING in skills/ discipline/ work attitude/ proper social behaviour PLUS OTHER CHARACTER QUALITIES NEEDED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN LIFE. WIth your quasi-philosophical-but-MOSTLY-POPULIST-blabbering, YOU JUSTIFY THE "LAZY VICTIM MINDSET" a.k.a. THE PROBLEM IS NEVER WITHIN THE PERSON'S BEHAVIOR - IT IS ALWAYS WITHIN "MALICIOUS SOCIETY". Chomsky, you would be more useful, if you ask people thinking- and drawing consequences OF BEING ACTUALLY ACCOUNTABLE for own actions. Because Chomsky - and we need to be real here - not everybody has the skills to build his career around fooling people with "progressive philosophy", and at the same time allowing him to survive as HIPOCRAT-CAREER-PARAS!TE. 🤣🤣

Wow. Someone whose perspective seems like mine. Are we correct? I feel so. I thinks it is more that we as humans often become distracted emotional and irrational and during seasons we become blind by our prides. If we knew better, we would not be so foolish. Its human nature more than "good" verse "evil" how ever such thing is perceived by each person. One could perceive good and evil as just vs unjust. Wise vs foolish. I feel there will always be a degree of pride in all human affairs regardless of political views, affiliation, or religious backgrounds alike. AT the end of the day, it boils down to whose pride is of deepest humility, most just, fair, and true. I would like to better understand how people conceptualize and perceive "standards of living". By what measure, and by what values or virtues alike do they contextualize such a lived experience. Is it of a solely material and superficial construct of thought and desire ? Or is it a much wiser rational blend of spiritual values, virtues, truths, and wellness - while focused more on material necessities, and sustainability - over excessive consumption, waste, pollution, exceeding decay of all elements and aspects of life and society.
