The cognitive dissonance of these people enjoying their privileged bubble on a horribly impoverished country that was for the most part made that way by the United States and France makes me physically ill. You can tip well to the people working at the resort but that doesn’t change the fact that you’re giving your money to yet another foreign company exploiting the rock bottom cheap labor and rampant corruption in that country. Locals are not even allowed to enter the resort to prevent making the foreign tourists feel unsafe. It’s honestly kind of disgusting.

It rains every time we camp there. By now I'm sure you know that campers can pay at the campground store to use the tram to get back. It was only $10 each for campers, but now its $20+ or something like that. And yes, the parking lot can fill up in minutes on a summer weekend.

Great video. I have been going to these springs all my life and a few hidden one as well and I am always amazed at the beauty. I have also swam in the brown water in a cypress lake most of my life and never had a problem with gators. The brown comes from the tannins in the cypress trees.

Yes... All of Florida gets severe weather. There's possible hurricanes from June through November, and then we often have daily thunderstorms through the summer, which can have some wicked lightning! (I think Florida is still the lightning capital of the U.S.) But we once saw a water funnel coming at us on Christmas day, so winter's not off limits either.
