Think you have the right idea in mind but this is not exactly ASMR. I hear a lot of wind and chain noise, less exhaust. The mic has to filter out these noises and be close to the exhaust.

To me, the dial gauges suggest a high-quality watch or expensive analog instrument gauges. Unfortunately, they're angled such that they're difficult to see in bright sunlight.
@TrekkieMoto5 ай бұрын
I haven't found them to be tremendously difficult in sunlight. Much depends on your helmet visor, I guess, although I use a clear one. The dials are definitely a premium feature.

The parts manager at the Triumph Dealership here in Escondido, California said to me on a recent visit: "have you seen the new Speed Twin? It'll knock your socks off !!" I respect his opinion; he's an amateur m/c racer. However my Bonneville T120 that I purchased new in 2022 has about a year of payments to be made before she's totally mine. $15,000 was the price I paid. And also, I'm somewhat miffed by the welded-on Cat Conerter on new Triumphs. I paid a shop $600 to decat my Bonnie & replace it with a cross pipe. Any performance upgrades in California are a challenge to make happen because of the stricter clean air laws here. Maybe, I'd consider an older Speed Twin in the future.

This doesn't sound half bad! An enjoyable ride to watch. I do hear the drivetrain noise you mentioned, which I get in my recordings too, and I'm thinking some of that might be reaching the mic directly through the fender it is attached to. I think a good experiment would be attaching the mic to the outside of a backpack; less convenient to use than the fender mount, but might help with isolating the exhaust note.
@TrekkieMoto11 ай бұрын
Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. I don't normally wear a backpack but maybe I can come up with some sort of belt arrangement. I like having its stereo sound, but the TASCAM DR-05X isn't really very convenient when it comes to mounting options. Thank you for subscribing!

Why on earth do you keep blipping the throttle when the bike is stationary? There's a throttle stop built into the throttle body which is carefully designed to keep the engine running at the optimum idle speed. I suggest you familiarise yourself with it. 😂

These have 40 hp, which is just seven less than the Royal Enfield 650cc twins that are perfectly highway capable. Heck, I've ridden a BV 350 scooter from White River Junction straight back over the Canadian border once on the interstate. Stick to the right hand lane, let the others pass you, and you're fine. This is precisely the sort of bike that is perfect as a city/town commuter while also capable of doing short to medium expressway hops to get onto the country roads.
