At this point it does seem he's there for the money the club owns him. He's got Some great moments but is generally weak defensively and simply lacks the bravado these kids have (for obvious reasons : they're younger, grew up in LA masia, etc)

People are so mesmerized by G/A output that they refuse to sit down and watch and understand the sheer impact this kid has for Barca. 99% of the time he touches the ball it results in an immediate progressive action. He very rarely has a touch that isn't an obvious positive for the run of play in Barca's favor. That is downright unbelievable for any player, let alone a 17 YEAR OLD. He plays a major role in the vast majority of the team's goals, but if he doesn't have a goal contribution they call it a stinker. Rapha and Lewy have certainly finished their chances at a good rate this season but EVERYTHING goes through Lamine

Apart from those plays, he also played a crucial part in our 2nd, 3rd, & 4th goals. He also set up a handful of OTHER chances outside of all of that. It was, quite easily in fact, one of his best performances at the senior level

I watched the full game yesterday. Lamine Yamal was the best player on that pitch. Ridiculous playmaker, pillow feet, one touch pass, press resistance, decision, final third pass, defence splitting pass, tempo setting, close control dribbling, opening up space to create a shooting opportunity. I’ve never seen a teenager so good while still developing his game. I totally agree with you. This was his best senior game. He was unfortunate not to get a couple assists but goal contributions aren’t everything. Lamine Yamal is nowhere near the finished article but what he is showing right now barring injury is all time level type of talent.

100% agree don't let anyone tell you otherwise people look at the goals and assists but yamal was not hitting the levels I expected him to hit but this was his best game of the season influence in every play
