Real estate pricing in this area is based on a severely distorted perception of reality.

Yup, it's insane. In parts of Marin, a very wealthy and desirable location north of San Francisco, this is $3 to $4 million... but not in Silicon Valley. Even in Santa Barbara it's still $4 million tops. I saw a totally restored and updated Eichler in Marin for just under $2 million. In Palo Alto that house would be north of $9 million. Demand is high, everyone is making high 6 figure incomes, and it's a short commute to those jobs. No one moves there, they're already there and they just keep buying up... and up.

U gotta have BANK 2 live in Palo Alto ..........Why do they NOT list Sq. footage ? .

5100 sq ft, but still... And a high 6-figure income is the minimum requirement for Palo Alto, so (even for CA) insane. This house in Marin County (north of SF) or Santa Barbara is maybe $5 million. The wealthiest people in Silicon Valley just might be the real estate agents who sell this obscenely overpriced property.

That price !.....WTF, Only in Ca.....It's beautiful , no doubt.....Also , I didn't like the staging . I bought my house in Scott's Valley ca. in 2010. It's a little over 3000 sq. ft.. and no where near that price.
