I had this machine for years now. Works well, even feed palms. The inward slots a little damaged from all the different branches and palms (thorny end) which saw into the plastic inward slot. But the machine will still eat it up. YES defo on that stupid output hole, it's so stupidly design, told ozito before and they still bringing out the same shape. Other than that it still service our needs.

Could not agree more - we just purchased one of these yesterday and agree with everything you have to say about it. Why it tapers smaller at the bottom is beyond me - however, all in all a great little machine for the price. We will use it often.

I had a model 10 years back it lasted me 8 years it was coloured green and yellow but still the same faults in the design back then as you have now, you have to keep pushing stuff down with the plug or keep clearing it , it was annoying as hell but my machine lasted for ages, I'm just about to buy a new machine but not a ozito

Great video. Clear and concise. No mucking about. 👍 I purchased the same model about a year ago and experienced the same issues with clogging. At first I thought it was because of the tapered design on output end. Decided to partially dismantle it and investigate. There's an internal sleeve installed on the outlet chute which narrows the diameter more than it would appear from the outside. With a long screwdriver and some prying I was able to remove it. Tested for a day and it reduced clogging/jamming to the point where it was a breeze to use. After a while I noticed the inlet on the top was stopping me from putting in larger awkward shaped material.. while the cutting area around the blades was wider than the inlet. So I cut the opening wider with a reciprocating saw and voila.. it mulches branchs bigger than 40mm now. I figure the manufacturer designed it this way to avoid injury to people getting their hands stuck inside.. but if it wasn't for that design I wouldn't feel compelled to stick my hand in there in the first place. Obviously the above modifications will void warranty.. and I'm not suggesting anyone do it.. just telling you what I experienced.

Yeah it definitely takes more that 40mm, mine was opened up more from all the sharp saw edge fronds.

Hi, I'm looking to start shredding down compostable takeaway coffee cups and sugarcane lids. If I flattened the cups first do you think this machine would work?
@RetoxMedia

Thanks for watching. That's an interesting idea. I haven't tried it. For anything made of paper I currently use a cardboard and paper shredder. If I get my hands on some takeaway coffee cups and sugarcane lids I'll put them through the chute and show the results.

Thanks for the video. I have the old green and yellow version. I bought it second hand in order to mulch palm fronds. I am very happy with the performance. If the material is still moist you will have incomplete mulching, which you have shown. However it’s better to reduce the size than leave it whole. I to suggest using a mower to compact it further. I can’t speak for the newer models such as yours, but I’m quite happy with mine.

For those in the States, 35 degrees Celsius equals 95 degrees Fahrenheit. Pretty warm, mate. Although in the most recent heatwave here in the western (U.S.) states, the daily highs got to 45+ Celsius, or 113+ Fahrenheit. Brutal.

113 is pretty hot alright. I really enjoyed the dry 110 degrees (F) heat of Arizona. Stayed in Tucson and Phoenix for almost the whole summer. Spent the Spring and part of the summer in Texas, San Francisco and the Mid West (Ohio, Missouri, Illinois Kansas City). Had to bring a jacket.

@@RetoxMedia Right you are. I always have to chuckle whenever the folks in Phoenix downplay the extreme temperatures by saying, "...it's a dry heat." 🥵 If you're outside and it's 117 degrees F (47 C) in the shade, the only thing on your mind is trying to find an air conditioned building in which to seek shelter. My late uncle was a long time Phoenix resident, and his annual routine was to have the A/C serviced in late April, then securely close all the doors and windows, draw the shades and set his thermostat on 78 degrees F and keep it there day and night until late October. I made the mistake once of visiting him for a week in mid-August. The daytime highs were in the 110-115 range, and at night it never was cooler than 88 degrees F, so there was no point in opening the windows either. One thing that many people don't realize is that Phoenix is an active agricultural area, and it relies on irrigation to support all the crops grown there. That has a tendency to raise the relative humidity which make things even more uncomfortable. BTW, I'd like to offer my condolences on the recent passing of Queen Elizabeth II. She was a great lady and will be deeply missed by all. Take care, mate.

@@krell2130 Sounds as though you'd enjoy the climate in Furnace Creek ( Death Valley), CA, where the high temperature hit an astonishing 130.0 degrees Fahrenheit (54.4°C) on Friday afternoon, July 9, 2021, the hottest reliably recorded temperature in world history. This beat the previous world record of 129.9 degrees Fahrenheit (54.4°C), set there on August 16, 2020. For perspective, according to What’s Cooking America, a medium-rare steak is cooked to an internal temperature of 130-135°F. 🔥 Cheers.
