It would be pretty scary downhill not knowing what to expect. My worn back tyre struggled in the loose dirt. At least there was no mud!

Enjoyed the video mate. Need you to be a little more selective on some of these tracks when you're on your own. Stay upright! 🙂

Probably should of turned back at the first steep section but couldn't resist a challenge.
@SqueakyBoot14 күн бұрын
Good video, certainly are pros and cons of riding alone...commented recently out in the high country, a map or GPX file rarely indicate the difficulty...once you commit you have to carry through👍
@OzADVRider14 күн бұрын
I enjoy riding with others but sometimes I just need to get out and do my own thing. The further I went on that track the less I wanted to turn back and have to do it downhill. As you know, the best way to find out the difficulty of a track is go and have a look! I won't be in a rush to do that one again. Not on my own anyway ;)
@markpearson208514 күн бұрын
It looked hard work, if I remember the power line track is a killer even on a dirt bike.
@OzADVRider14 күн бұрын
Yeah, very steep and rocky. I didn't realise how worn my rear tyre is either. New one on the way!
@Gusto017214 күн бұрын
Great vid, thanks. Bought back memories from my hang gliding days - there are several launch sites in that range & great cross country potential on a summers day. You do well on the 650. I have a Vstrom 800, a bit heavier, I'd rather be on my DR650 in that terrain.

Beautiful views from the Ben Nevis launch site. Looks a bit bare after the fires but coming back to life. Took on a bit much with Green Gully Track but now I'll stop wondering what it's like.
@patchpaddy14 күн бұрын
You worry me a little with some of these tracks doing them alone but you are very competent. Keep up the good work 🙂 PS I liked the front wheel view, it looked a little different this time 👍
@OzADVRider14 күн бұрын
I probably should of turned back on Green Gully Track. It was way harder than it looked. Eerily quiet out there too, I saw and talked to one other rider. I got that front wheel angle right this time. Need to see the some of the fixed part of the fork and all the moving part.

I do ride much slower are more carefully on my own, but nice to have support in those tricky, muddy situations. The CFmoto is very similar to my bike, specs and to ride. I rode it recently but didn't do very good commentary, it was very slippery and I was trying not to fall off. I have a half finished video, may need to revisit it.
@patchpaddy29 күн бұрын
@OzADVRider yep saw that one which was why I asked 🤔 the 650 is (ruffly) 20plus kg (10٪) heavier but curious which gives 'better' power to the gound V twin or parallel twin. Obs your mods with front wheel and forks balance the two alot 👍😎 Enjoying the vids ☺️ thank you

Good video, did my chainsaw ticket in Creswick, looks like some interesting tracks...unfortunate about the phone, timely reminder for me to buy a cheap one and put the one that might save me somewhere safe when I ride...interested to know how the new front tyre goes, I have to replace mine, thinking of a Pirelli Scorpion Rally...FYI...Was out at Wombat today (as you saw in my short) Obriens/Bluegum link track has been graded and is pretty loose...XL track (Obriens to Chettle, been graded to the creek pretty loose, Amblers lane as you saw loose, dry lots of sections of bulldust)

cheers man , what's to stop the residual fuel pissing out once you disconnect the fuel hose?
@OzADVRiderАй бұрын
Fuel doesn't pass through the pump, you should only get a dribble when you disconnect the hose. You will want the tank pretty empty so you can remove the pump without fuel pouring out though

Hi , the pressure in them tyre's should be in the mid 20's , I run 28max on my T700 running AX41 or Trac rally Z's Ax's are way better but don't last as long, but I'm now running "Michelin tracker" front on my Gasgas es700 and Honda Rally 300, brilliant tyre except in sand, but you can deal with it, I'm in Maryborough if you need a ride buddy, hit me up.
@OzADVRiderАй бұрын
Cheers mate! Thanks for the advice. I've always run fairly high pressures without issue but different tyres behave differently I guess. Felt a lot better when I dropped the pressure. Lot's of great riding around the central highlands, will try and organise a ride once I get my bike sorted.
