Thanks for the segment guys! My two cents: the HOF needs to set some real defined criteria for inclusion with the skill players rather than how a handful of press people feel about their careers. Yardage, in my opinion, is the best measurable for running backs and receivers and return specialists When you look at the all time scrimmage yard leaders in NFL history only 51 players have cracked 13,000 yards. Torry Holt is among those. Top 51 in NFL history for yards gained from scrimmage ought to be an automatic induction. Devin Hester just made the Hall of Fame this year and he is not even the greatest return specialist in NFL history. Hester compiled 14,455 all purpose yards from scrimmage in his career, but a player named Brian Mitchell who played for the Redskins (now Commanders) and the Eagles was absolutely the best ever. The guy went for over 2,000 yards in four seasons and led the NFL in all-purpose yards four times. In a 14 year career he failed to gain 1,000 yards on twice, his rookie season and his 3rd year. Only Jerry Rice accumulated more total yards than Brian Mitchell for an NFL career. I would have a cutoff for return specialists at 15,000 yards. Only 39 players (many on the scrimmage yards list at 13K) in NFL history have made the 15K mark for all purpose yards. Thanks for banter and takes. Must take into account the length and impact of title reigns. In that sense comparing Christian’s titles to punks is disingenuous. Christian was also never top guy like punk.
