Your fluffy companion is adorable! ❤ I never thought you looked like Melisandre, but now I think that you actually have something in common with the actress. 😁 For me, Shae from the books and Shae from the show are two completely different persons (both in appearance and by nature). So, maybe, it would be easier to accept TV Shae if you don't compare them. By the way, personally I always found TV Shae more likeable. I hope, in future you will like her too. )) P. S. Horrendous ending! Stannis character was portrait well as a man with principles in the scene with the drafting of the letter: "I didn't love my brother, take it out" and "make it Jaime Lannister, the kingslayer", followed by "Ser Jaime Lannister, the kingslayer". We also met one of the topactresses of our country: Carice van Houten plays Melissandre, not a main character regrettably, but we are represented. All the best from the Netherlands!

The killing of the bastards hits hard at the end of the episode and I remember it was unclear to me who ordered it. Was it Cersei, Joffrey or someone else? Later I noticed that the music playing during the sequence is a more agressive version of the theme played when King Robert entered Winterfell at the beginning of S1. This reworking of the king's theme is the show "telling" Joffrey ordered the massacre.

Oh, Craster's Keep giving "cozy Christmas vibes". Yes, that's probably the true Santa Claus story ;) One thing I still hope the books will uncover: I suspect Craster's Keep was built by the Night's Watch, not by one man asking for an axe and his daughters.

7:09 "She's leading him on again. Big no no". Few people understand the character that early on. That's why they hated the way some things turned out later on or cheered when she "liberated" brainwashed soldiers into fighting for her.

Is Bran cool or boring? Well, book readers know that Bran is a main character. He even has the first point of view chapter after the prologue, making him as close as possible to THE main character, the one readers are first invited to identify with or feel for. And yet he is mostly an observer going through things and trying to make sense of them, more a couch potatoe carried around by the action than an active character with relatable motives except "try not to die".

Idk the books but I feel like the starks kind of treat Theon poorly. And to be fair, it makes complete sense that he would side with his actual family. I mean especially back then, your blood and family meant so much more. It makes me question people’s logic when they hate Theon or don’t understand where he is coming from. They probably hate him because he’s also a sex craved boy. But even then, you can tell he really likes Roz. Also, didn’t know this till recently but I think the actress who played shae did porn before joining the show. Not 100 percent about that but I feel like read that on a game of thrones subreddit. Not that it matters. I mainly mention it because the character feels very cold or kind of emotional about some things. Idk. It’s hard to explain. There is just something off about her. She’s got kind of a girl boss attitude but she isn’t really that likeable.

GRRM talked about the showrunners killing off characters faster because of budgets, but on the flip side you'll be seeing a lot more of some characters than you see in the books since those actors can't just disappear for seasons and then be expected to come back. Yes, you will see Ygritte in Season 2, played by Rose Leslie. When you decide if you like her for the part or not, you may want to consider that real life Rose Leslie didn't shoot Kit Harrington with her arrow, but evidently Cupid did, because the actors are now happily married with two children.

Bran's direwolf is indeed Summer! And "Bran" and "boring" both start with the letter 'b' so that's my opinion of him 😅 Personally, I'm not a fan of the Littlefinger/Cersei scene as I think it diminishes LF's "cunning" personality if Cersei is able to easily get the upper hand on him like that. Also, Joffrey's actor (Jack Gleeson) is one of the sweetest people in the world in real life and he does a fantastic job in portraying Joffrey! However, unfortunately he got a lot of death threats from some people because they couldn't separate the actor from the character. Anyway, nice reaction! 😁

I got Assassin's Apprentice on a good sale a couple weeks ago, but that one has to sit and wait. I'm right in the middle of Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn by Tad Williams and I've decided I have to at least finish that before I check out Robin Hobb. I have a feeling those two books are going to be similar in setting and writing style and while I like to read multiple books at once since I am a such a mood reader, I don't like to read two books that are too similar at once. So I should be starting To Green Angel Tower by the end of the month/next month and finish those two books by the end of February. Also I've been reading through Bernard Cornwell's Last Kingdom series a book a month all year and next month will bring me to the twelfth book in this fourteen book series. These are historical fiction based around the founding of Britain and they are all short snappy reads. Not sure what else I might next month. i finished the books last week, took me 1 year to read them all (i read really slow), and now i'm currently watching season 1. i find it really interesting the way the show portrays the world in such realistic approach, because while reading the books i've always imagined the cities and clothing in a more fantastical style. the only part that bothers me a little is how they aged some characters. although I think it makes sense to do it with dany, for example, I don’t really like seeing robb and jon as grown men, considering they were only 14 in AGOT. anyway, it's not a major problem and i'm really enjoying watching the show so far. sorry for any gramatical error, i'm still learning english

on my more recent rereads, I noticed that even besides Robb flailing his sword about before bring scolded by ser rodrick, and then crying later with Bran, Jon also cries fairly often in the first book, which rly is just a rough reminder of their youth. the poor boys. but yeah the "grittier" more 'realistic' dinginess of the costuming was probably one of my biggest gripes with the show from the very beginning. the books are so colorful!! with all their banners and house sigils and colors, and all the knights with their crazy helms... lol.
