This video is the reason why this remake is SOOO over-hated, all because of some fucking lost content and “character negligence.” If anything, they gave Brad a brief redemption arc rather than having Nemesis kill him off like nothing. And the ending here made more sense than the original, since the original felt VERY rushed.

I love her even though the trauma she went through has changed her, but if we put ourselves in her shoes, would we have reacted differently, or would we have acted in the same way ? We can never know, but we can try to understand her motivations. She has such a fear of abandonment and losing Joel, when they were on the verge of a real reconciliation, twisted her brain. It's hyper-traumatizing. She lives in a world where there's almost no mercy, almost no justice, where the law of the strongest prevails. So it's human nature to want revenge when someone you love is attacked, and to take the law into your own hands. Of course she was going to hunt down Abby and potentially kill her friends if they didn't cooperate with her (especially if they wanted to kill her). It's important to understand that throughout her journey, post-traumatic stress ruled her. Think of it as a parasite. She's immune to cordyceps, but not to PTSD. It ravaged her just as cordyceps ravages its host, gradually transforming it and causing it to lose all its humanity. Ellie was on the verge of losing all her humanity at the end, but PTSD made her lose what she holds most dear. I don't know about Dina and Tommy (the ending is open to all possible hypotheses) but the last time she interacted with either of them, she ended up losing their support. And even though she retains her memories, she loses the physical link that still held her together with Joel : the guitar. I find it very sad and want to hug her. In our world, she would have needed extensive therapy to heal her PTSD. To sum up, Ellie is a person who loves with all her soul, who has lost a lot of people she loves, who has lived through hyper-traumatic stuff and so... In the world she lives in, her reaction could not be more normal and natural.
