I bought a brand new black 84 Nighthawk in August or so of 84. January of 85 I got stationed in Germany and had to leave it behind (while still making payments on it). My parents didn’t upkeep it very well, its condition deteriorated, and I had them trying to sell it. About two months before I returned, they sold it for $800. Just made me sick, and still does. The guy that bought I just happened to know from high school. I went by and saw it and he let me take it for a spin but it felt so different after not being on a bike for 3 years. He said it took him 2 weeks to get it running.
