Honestly, I do like the old design, but understand the dev’s decision. Everyone, let’s take a deep breath and say “we shouldn’t harass the mod developer for changing their design to avoid misconceptions”.

Did you know the mega spud is actually a vanilla mob? it’s from the April fools poisonous potato update which is also turned into a mod for those who read the description.

There’s at least a chance for the warden to beat Ignis on a sidenote. But my main point is in another video Ignis does win.

OK, I know the mega spud is extremely powerful and dying to It shouldn’t be humiliating, but there’s something about dying to a potato that’s still very humiliating.

Barako have much more personality

I feel like Umvuthi is really good in both concept and animation, but I just feel like them and their bird minions just don't match the roles they're replacing. When I see Barako I think: Yeah, this guy looks like the leader of a tribe. But when I see Umvuthi I think: This thing has to be some eldritch horror taking on the form of a bird. Which both are good, but the fact that the birds look and act much less like humans, make the fact that they live in a camp that looks like it was built by humans just feel weird and out of place. Maybe if they redesigned the camp to look much more like something a bunch of really smart birds would build, then I'd buy it more. Tbh I think it would be great if we could have both. Like if you get the Sun's Blessing enough times, Barako sacrifices himself and/or performs some ritual that replaces him with Umvuthi. Then Umvuthi could be like a stronger version of Barako but drops better loot.

The older look and designs were better in my opinion. Just a bit more personality than the birds.

I find it funny how people take issue with the Barakoa looking similar to African tribes but not how the Umvuthi and Abavuthana are literally the spitting image of those old bird and mosquito masks/attires the native Americans used to wear to gain superpowers lmfao
