Die Optik einer Rennmaschine, dieser unglaubliche Sound und die mehr als überzeugenden Fahrleistungen. Was für ein Motorrad! In meinen frühen 20ern gehörte die RD 500 mit zu meinen unbedingten Traummotorrädern. So, wie ich damals allerdings unterwegs war, hätte ich mich mit diesem Teil vermutlich totgefahren. Meinen Glückwunsch zu diesem tollen Motorrad!

I followed this advice from someone at ZRXOA (owners association) and took me 10 minutes to remove it and about 30 to put it back -) ... Hey man yes it’s super easy really , so first make sure you got the tank off , undo the air box so it is completely loose, pop off the little metal wires around the airbox rubbers and also undo the screws on the engine intake end so that everything is loose, then get a hair dryer and heat up the rubbers, I usually have it blowing for around 2/3 minutes on the airbox side the engine side you don’t need to , then strap the airbox back so like in my picture have the strap going around it and around the number plate so it’s as far back as possible, then because the rubbers are warm you fold back the rubbers like a mushroom so get the lip of the dubber and fold it back on its self so now you have the biggest gap , then just pop the carb off offf the engine rubbers and slide out of the right hand side , when you get it half way then disconnect the choke and also the accelerator and deceleration cables , I also undo them at the handle bar end so that it has more slack , but honestly follow these steps and it’s easy man you won’t be tugging and pulling it slips straight out.

I would put F1 pipes on that Ducati because it would sound louder, better and more pure

Hey mate, how smoothly should the rotating assembly be once fully torqued? I'm able to rotate by hand but worried there's too much resistance on the vertical strokes. Rings were sourced from China but they measured the correct gapping. It's all able to be rotated by hand but I just worry :(

I may be about to find this out the hard way: is there no way the carbs can be removed with the airbox intact? Or the airbox removed first? Installation with the airbox attached? That would seem to make this process a lot easier. Thanks for the video!

Lovely bike! ;) I love Japanese bikes from the 80's-90's, early 00's. Still the best ones ever made. My dad had a 1994 Honda VFR-400, and I have a 1990 Yamaha FZR-250. Best era of bikes and cars. And nice Nicky Hayden flag. May he rest in peace and ride on the heavenly roads :,( ❤

Beautiful beautiful bike n noise I was going to get one as I had the rd250lc n I loved it especially with microns n I payed 1,030 pounds plus 300 pounds for fully com insurance I was 17 n work hard to save up for a year at work I was lucky that I got a job in n warehouse when I left school but had to work like n man n got boys pay for 2 years so I didn't complain when I got my rd250lc brand new n the other bike that I got instead of the rd500lc was the fz750 pure sports 20 value jobby but always wished that I got the rd500 instead n thanks for sharing this vid with us all 👌
