Great video man a family member told me about you and your snakes at christmas breakfast this morning i love snakes but i live in east Tn so owning venomous is out of the question but doesnt stop my love or fascination with them i have a few ball pythons now keep up the videos i really enjoy them

I watch a lot of venomous snake keepers and I got the utmost respect for him however man you said it yourself those gloves are bite resistance not bite proof and you are pretty much free handling a puff adder of the fastest striking snakes on the planet like come on man put two gloves on at least I know they come into pair😂😂

You should keep antivenom at the house. at least 10 to 20 veils per species. I know its expensive and hard to find, but it is out there.

I do. I’m fully licensed and permitted to import and own antivenin.

This snake is a white lipped pit viper from Indonesia. Almost all snakes shake their tails as a threat display!

Is there different colours/patterns, even characteristics depending on which is the mother or the father? Has any research been done into their venom?

That’s a great question! I would assume his venom is closer to that of a cottonmouth and is more toxic than that of a copperheads. And I’m unsure amount the characteristics! This individuals mother was a Florida cottonmouth and his father was an eastern copperhead

What's thr point of importing and owning venomous snakes?? That's the biggest issue people in florids import these things and when they get to large the release them in the wild, no we have deadly invasive species wandering about.

First, the snakes are not imported most of these were born here in the United States. Second, I own these snakes for conservation and education purposes. I sometimes extract venom from these snakes, also for research purposes. Third, the invasive species found in the Florida Everglades are pythons, which are not venomous. Also, they were not released into the wild people who own them. They were introduced into the wild when a hurricane destroyed a zoo, and because they are large and have no natural predators they have thrived in the Everglades. there are absolutely zero deadly invasive species about
