Supposedly multivitamins are bad about not actually having much "vitamin to it" and it's not crap so.. that's wht even Carnivore doc Dr Ken Berry give his kids HIYA, "just in case" bc ge knows some vitamins are just scams

Also, in MY area, Flintstones vitamins are 10 bucks not nearly 7. That sucks. There's a STORE brand for almost 7 bucks though and it's supposed to be A Flinstones knock off.

I think this is what people who live in academia talk about and regurgitate to the general public as if the issue of food is language and not scarcity or waste or malnutrition or eating disorders.

Thank you for your non judgemental, non fear mongering content. As an adult with scrupulosity/morality OCD, autism+Adhd, ARFID +etc I struggle to inform myself online cos so many people sell you smth or tug me into unhealthy restrictive eating thought patterns. If you had not already, could you break down what an adult needs throughout the day, like the different nutrition groups(not as in unhealthy food Vs healthy, but rather in "you need this amount of protein on a sedentary completely lay in bed-day as a minimum and this minimum on an active day+ carbs +different groups of vitamins and minerals& you can get protein from this, this and this- here I'm giving you a long list of options with protein sources& in case you can't it big lentils&chicken&meat yet, then try this" and examples of meals for people with different activity levels& different Arfid aversions)? I am not very connected to my sense of hunger at all, thankfully have 2 deep frozen vegetable mix boxes from the store as a safe food+sweet potatoes, runny eggs and all kinds of berries. But I really struggle to find professional help where I'm at right now and am scared to look further than your channel, cos I fear to get sucked into disordered food thoughts that seem to be so normalized on a lot of channels. It is kinda insidious Open to suggestions from commenters about books or blogs or other KZbinrs or their approaches to a relaxed way of dealing with food, that stems from scientifically proven facts and is not fear mongering foods.

I'm crying and am so happy that other kids have and had gentle reflected parents. I didn't know I had ARFID until recently and I would vomit the daily breakfast porridge&was made to eat the vomited out porridge again and again. I couldn't control the disgust&vomiting🤢😭and it just made me even more restrictive, scarred for life and made food sooooo difficult Now as an adult I'm so glad to have found a name for it and creators like you!! I will gentle parent myself, as now I am my own parent and will tirelessly search for appropriate professional help. Big THANKS I'm sure there's a lot of folks with stories like mine that might not comment, but really I want you to know that you have a positive life-changing impact on the life of other people. Thanks

I mean this in a very polite way, as I don’t want to be that guy on the internet being rude. But… you should definitely look up the impact of eating oatmeal in the morning. It’s causes the chemicals in your brain relating to anxiety to spike, hurts your metabolism, and even causes you to eat more than you need throughout the day. I used to think that it was good for me too! I stopped eating it and I fell drastically better and have more energy throughout the day. So does my wife! Also my kids stopped crying near nap time, and spend a lot more time playing than crying.

Also you can’t actually digest chia seeds, unless you soak them overnight. They aren’t meant to be eaten and the film protects them.

Anytime you have candy with all that sugar and dyes on a regular basis, it IS going to affect your health. High carbs increase fidgeting and concentration. The diet is still correct. But other herbs can also help. Moms are putting candy in lunch bags and teachers are sometimes rewarding kids with candy and then don’t understand why they can’t sit still.

I have a problem with the fact that this is a federally funded program. SO is SNAP. Are they limiting ANYHTING on SNAP? No they are not. So if you have SNAP and can purchase WHATEVER you want then I think the SLP needs to lighten up. Serving flavor less food is not ok.

Your comment is ignorant and not helpful, just instills more unnecessary shame in people with the diagnosis ARFID . There are different sicknesses in the world and none of them need you hierarchical ranking and dismissal.

My nephew developed AFRID. He developed leukemia at the cusp of him trying solid foods (a little before he turned 1) and chemo made everything taste like dirt to him except nacho cheese doritos which was all he would eat willingly for 3 years. He's 5 now- he beat his cancer 2 years ago- and is still very picky but thanks to therapy he's been able to branch out and expand his go-to foods little by little. It's a big deal everytime he tries something new but we have to hold our breath and pretend we don't notice.

Gwenna Laithland of MommaCusses/Pleasant Peasant Media talked about hpw she's categorized foods as "good for body" and "good for brain". In this explanation, she says that more nutritious foods are classified as "good fpr body" because they're helpful to the body and helps make it work, and more sugary/less nutritious foods are "good for brain" because sometimes our brains crave them, and feeding ourselves that craving can make us happy. She mentions that the only "bad food" in her house are foods you can't eat (dietary issues/needs that would hurt if you did) or food that's rotten.

ARFID is not a choice and not as easy as "just push through". If you force a child with ARFID to eat non-safe foods for them, that overwhelm their nervous system, then that will create even more problems with food. Slow and steady, with an approach that is proven to be effective by studies, you can widen the foods that are tolerated. The creator is doing what is factually right and helpful.

Damn a lot of people who disagree in the comments lol. My son always has bedtimes nack while we read books before bed. A banana, toast with almond butter, nut/oat bar ect. He eats best when distracted (books) so it helps to make sure my picky eater isn't hungry at night.
