Okay, so it's funny how some things stay with you. I played the clarinet in high school. I remember playing this piece in the band nearly 40 years ago. It just popped in my head today. I was so happy I remembered the name and found this on KZbin. Thank you for posting it.

I think tempo is too fast? I've heard this piece quite a few times. Never this quick. Almost too quick to hear the melodies. Oh well imho

I played this song in the early 80's with my high school band (Riverview Gardens in St. Louis, MO) at the Dogwood Arts Band Festival in Knoxville, TN. I played 1st clarinet. We also played "Fairest of the Fair". We won 1st place concert band that year! I love this song! Thanks for posting it!

This was my favorite song from band class. I played Tympani on this song back in 1997. 17 years later, I still hum this song to myself (permanently stuck in my head, possibly from all the hours of practicing). So today, I decided to search it out. Hearing it again in its entirety really brings back memories of high school band. Thanks for posting it.

I played the snare drum on this song in Jr. High School in 1987. We took 1st place in Abbotsford, BC Canada. Good times.

This was commissioned for the La Follette High School Wind Ensemble in Madison, Wis., in 1982. I know. I was one of the second trumpets playing this at the world premiere.

@thebbcamerican sorry about the ridiculously long delay in the response. Unfortunately this piece is no longer in print, so I borrowed it from a colleague band director. If you ask around some of the older schools in your area you may be able to find it. Thanks for the compliment, they were a great group!

Do you know who currently publishes this? I've been trying to track down this and Tates Creek Overture. I saw a music list that had a publisher code for both of "S2", but I haven't been able to figure out who that is. Great job with this piece, btw!

I remember this being the first song I ever played as a high school band student. I did not march my freshman year, because I wasn't sure I wanted to take band in high school. Naturally, I missed playing, so I gave it a shot. I was one of 5 freshman moved up from Concert Band to Wind Ensemble that year. When I saw this I flipped out, because I didnt think I would ever be able to play this! But, with practice, I learned, and learned it well! Some of my fondest memories come from being in band!
