Hey when installing the rear rack did you do anything to the covers or anything? I got an fxs they seem pretty similar but I been doing my search zero does have a install guide for it even though it's easy but what I'm trying to say is the plastic cover on mine don't seem to have a notch/whole where the rack bars come out if that make sense I might have to cut mine

Hi thanks for the video. I just got an FX too, great bike! I see you have a lot of accessories. Can you please comment on: 1) does the windscreen help with drag and discomfort on the road? How tall are you? 2) does the chain drive reduce range at all? Would you say it increases power or affects the power delivery? I am torn on this one as I have read it has also caused damage to the splines in the motor, but I can understand how it improves off-road confidence. Thanks so much! Keep enjoying the ride! These bikes really make for an alternate experience

How to unload loaded chamber without unload whole magazine ?
@oceantri8 ай бұрын
If there’s an unspent cartridge in the chamber that you want to remove simply open the lever it will extract the cartridge. Then leave the lever open if you don’t want another cartridge to do into the chamber.
@hannesgreen6384 ай бұрын
@@oceantri Would it be possible to partially unload a cartridge through the loading gate, thereby blocking the action from picking up a new round, and THEN empty the chamber? I tried asking Ruger this but they just referred to the manual.
@oceantri4 ай бұрын
@@hannesgreen638no it will eject the round in the chamber. If you don’t want to load the next round you’ll have to leave the lever action open.

Consistency is important in reloading ammo. It is impossible to apply a consistent crimp with that cheap tool! Don't ask me how I know. [I have three of them in 45 Colt, 45 Auto, and 45-70 of which I quite using them after only having made three rounds with varying crimps. Two of which were overly and lopsided crimps, not good. Also ruined one case by flaring it lopsidedly.] Either buy good equipment or forget about it!

Yeah, these classic kits are a good tool to introduce the basics to the new hand loader. Hopefully, if they get into it they’ll step up to presses.

@@oceantri Yeah, I was one newbie that wasted $120 on that cheap stuff and wish I would had spent the money on a decent press. Now I got stuff sitting on a self that I would not give to some one as to do them that way.

I’ve never had any of those issues you mentioned with the Lee Loader. After about a week of hammering I got tired of the noise and incorporated an arbor press which worked great made it quiet, faster and more accurate. I used it this way for several months. I eventually bought a Lyman 8 turret press and love it.
@thetexasrat Жыл бұрын
@@oceantri An Arbor Press would have helped tremendously by being able to apply a steady even force. But why not start with a decent single stage press (or a turret) from the get go, so that one does not waste money on something that will just end up collecting dust? I ended up getting the Buchanan Precision Machine Hand Press with the Hornady L-N-L quick die change bushing system in it. That was $300 dollars, of which the $120 [spent on the cheap Lee Loaders] would have come in handy to help pay for the better equipment. Instead that $120 is just collecting dust while rusting away on a self.

Barely, the first 1/2 inch of the bolt pushes the hammer open then the rest of the bolt clears the hammer by a couple of millimeters the rest of the way.

I do own a Versys and i really like the bike, it is powerful enough and nimble enough to do most things. The trail shown is where she would definitely shine. There is no big difficulties like rocks or uneven terrain on this trail. I do have an enduro bike too and I use it on difficult ground where you need higher ground clearance because of rocky terrain. Versys will also shine in mud or water thanks to her good balance and will be more versatile than many enduro. This bike is quite good as long as you remember she is not designed for full offroad but only for mostly road and medium trails.
