@ 31:00 The poem recital shows why this wasn't an exclusive monotheistic transformation. After all, why include previous deities stricken from the record at Karnak here in this poem? Reasoning to understand this new cult was consolidating the power from the priestly class that ran those other cults. Those who didn't kick up tribute to the new regime were targeted. The temples were left in disrepair, not destroyed. It was about the money. BTW, That androgynous look is what those esoteric cults cling to from the Temple of Set, back through history to LaVey Satanism, Crowley Thelema, Freemasons Masonic order, and supposedly The Knights Templar as well as several other esoteric clubs that represent their beliefs by a *_Baphomet_* idol. The same androgynous concept is demonstrated by ancient Dogon tribe from Mali/Burkina Faso region.

I was in the audience when they performed this. So good. I met Katie’s mom before walking in. She told us to cheer as loud possible when they performed.

The depth of the guitar work really comes to life with that Gretsch White Falcon. Such a pop anthem this is, harkens to another time like 1979 by The Smashing Pumpkins, Here Comes Your Man by The Pixies, The Boys Of Summer by Don Henley, or even Our Lips Our Sealed by The Go Go's. This is destined to be a timeless classic long after I'm gone.

Who ever decided to dress these kids up like Vegas show girls should be tard and feathered. This ain't the Houndmouth I know. It's a shame that the glitz got painted them. No need for it. It distracts from the integrity of the music. ohh well. It's all in the past anyway.

Reminds me of the father of my son...my once husband. He left me because I chose to drink away my trauma instead of facing it. And God I miss him. I miss our little family. He basically raised our now 10 year old son on his own while I got my shit together. He is now happily remarried...and I still love and will never stop missing him and what could have been.

Boy, Houndmouth really had it all going on at this point, ready for that big leap. Two good-looking guys, one goofy drummer, the cool, pretty chick. And great songs! Great playing. And then--poof! It just never quite came to be, for whatever reason.

This is the only song I've heard by them, and in fact today is the first time I've heard of them (here in 2023), so what do I know. But as a guess, maybe they were perceived as a "me too" band that sounded like so many others of that era, and there was only room for so many to get heavily promoted. Being on "Letterman" is a big deal, but does not guarantee success.

All Pharoahs were human! SMH! And none of the pharoahs were terrifying. The only people the brought terror to Africa were white people like Napoleon, Constantine, Alexander and all the thieves that stole African knowledge and fabricated it to suit their political purpose. You should not teach history unless you are willing to teach it correctly. Making up your own ideas of who you think Africans ancestors were, is not factual but opinion.

Jamey! I'm finally catching up on my email. I just watched this a couple of min. ago, and went on yt, and it came up! Great job. Rhythm section guys look pretty young, but they've all played with you before. How long have you been playin' together? Sent you some snail mail recently. Hope you got it. Will email you later. regards. Gary

I’m so sad she left. She was perfect for this band and she has a incredible voice. Houndmouth it still a great band, but it will never be the same without her.
@rickyticky92212 жыл бұрын
I agree with what you said about the band and don't know why she left but her new stuff is nowhere close to what Houndmouth did with her in the group. I still think Houndmouth is great, but her new stuff is hard to watch.

@@redeemed7920 Katie toupin she was in band when they first started, but then she left to create her own band and music in my opinion she is not that good unless she is with houndmouth

I saw something that said she left because she didn’t enjoy being on the road constantly. I was sad both times when her and the girl from the Lumineers left their own bands.

I am a hetero male, but I ask all of you to tell me if the bass player does have the face of a super model........I am 65 and just "discovered" this band ONE MONTH ago,, it was this song that was the back ground music for some nature/ fishing vid,,,, and within ten seconds I was in love with this sound,,,,, and ha ha of course being that hetero male I was especially attracted to the keyboard players beauty so the lyrics were cute but I assumed it was just random psyche dellic stuff,, then yesterday I looked up on a website about the meaning of songs,,,,,,,, and to my incredible surprise it turned out that this song is a commentary on a real life event that took place in Sedona Arizona that took place in the 1940's and it is all about a film that got nixxed due to the blacklisting that occurred in the 1940's WOW
