After the cello/piano pieces op. 11 Webern did not find any more how to go forward in "free atonality". He found his way back using the human voice, from op. 12 to op. 19, until the adoption of serialism in the trio op. 20 - significantly without human voice. Here, he uses a piano. In further works, he uses very small sets of instruments, mainly for contrapuntal clarity.

Ik heb niet zo lang geleden de muziek van Schubert ontdekt (en zing het zelf ook). Echter naar deze opname luister ik heel vaak, zou het zelf ook wel willen in een koor zoals dat van deze heren. Heerlijk!!!

Hier verstehen alle genau, was sie singen und genießen es. Der Humor ist sehr subtil. Man bleibt dabei ohne zu merken, wie gut es technisch ist. Großartige Interpretation und künstlerische Entscheidungen bis hin zum jungfräulichen Blumenkranz.
