He's like the Elvis Presley of Cats. It gave me a chuckle to see him in this adaptation of Rum Tum Tugger. I have the 1998 film of it on DVD with John Partridge playing Rum Tum Tugger. What a Corker.

I really enjoyed the scenes from 18:50-19:37, where we have Victoria meeting her "prince charming" at the Jellicle Ball, like in a fairy tale. Then we have the rest of the Jellicle tribe join in with them (as a sign of giving them their blessing) then everybody starts touching and caressing each other (turning the Ball into an orgy?) then taking a little cat nap with everyone curled up together for warmth from the cold night before their finale. I found it pretty heartwarming, it shows a deep intimate bond of trust amongst the members of the tribe. Also because, since the performers are supposed to be anthropomorphic animals, I find it very amusing, for this also reveals a humbling and uneasy truth, as human beings, in spite of our sophistication and our disciplined inhibitions, we are still creatures of the mammalian kingdom. I love this musical!

Oh man, I hate that the movie cut this. The times I saw Cats on stage, this was always a stunning part of the show. They really couldn’t spare ten more seconds in the movie for these moves? I demand to know who thought cutting this was a good idea 😂

hold on that misto looks weirdly like the 1998 tumblebrutus also its so freaky seeing such a more basic and stripped back set, with only a tiny orchestra and less-heightened choreo. its quite literallt cats as a toddler and i love it
