This is... just a few months after you posted this, but my local theatre is doing Legally Blonde next year and I'm hoping to audition for either Elle or Enid Hoops. Are there any songs you think would work with both? Or maybe just Enid?

Musical theatre and singing have saved me from depression i will forever be grateful and i practice everyday. I’m going to a 3week camp studying musical theater, i hope i land a good role, the only thing I’m confident in is my singing though…

I'm playing Mal in my high school's production next february and I'm super pumped, this is one of my favorite musicals ever the music the costumes and the plot are just so fun and it'll be so entertaining to watch

I really want a lead roll but I've only done one other play and people said I did amazing and I really stood out from everyone else.....I want to get a lead so bad! And my last roll I had to switch rolls last minute like I only had like a month to learn a lot of lines.....and we all had like 5 months to practice....so thanks for the tips!

I’m singing What I Did For Love from A Chorus Line. Anyone who’s familiar with that musical knows that the song is a response to a question posed by the guy hosting the audition. So where should I look in that case?

It’s okay if you don’t respond but I have a theater question. So my school did Seussical and I do these theater camps and we put on a production in one week. One of the camps is Seussical. We always put on this little sheet are experience and I don’t know if I should put that I have already done the show Seussical. I don’t want make it look like they don’t need to give me a good role because I already did it(I was a bird girl and I’m hoping to get jojo) but I want them to know I have experience for the show. What do you think I should do??

As someone who as performed in the jr and proper version of legally blonde i can safely say as fun as the jr version is, the proper one really goes into a lot more depth

i was an "understudy" in my chorus classs (idk if that counts) and it was super disappointing she had me audition around 5 times, told me how good i was blah blah and i didnt get to ever did it plus when it was the concert she kinda sucked

I love theatre but I don't know if I'm in it for the right reasons. I don't care about being in the spotlight, fame or money. I just want to have those amazing experiences that come with participating in something so wild and whimsical as theatre. Is that a loose motivation? Because that's what I shoot for. Not just the spotlight (in fact, I don't much care for the spotlight at all) but the experience of being somebody, adapting to a scripted adventure, and living to tell the tale and enjoy the beauty of theatre throughout my life.

As a person who has never acted, I can confirm that these are useful steps.

I personally agree with key difference 4. Especially for me when I went to high school from middle school, I could also feel the sense of play fading away as it slowly became more of a competition sort of. Therefore, I feel like it is just life when high schoolers lose that sense of play b/c they start to realize how the real world is mostly about competition.

I just auditioned for Oliver in Oliver Twist cuz I was in the final two and my bestie was the other she said she never wanted to addition but she did cuz I did. We did the audition but I was away for the Announcement and she got it cuz I was away but ONTOP of that she promised to tell me who I got but didn’t and found out on a gc that was filled with ppl I hated. I cried so much and I know this is a bit but I don’t want her to have that role 😢

Hades in the teen version only goes down to an F2 instead of a G1. It's a pretty huge difference making it a lot easier.

In the JR. show I saw, they didn’t have a kiss during that scene, instead had Callahan wrap his arm around Elle’s shoulder.

I recently got cast in hamlet! I play Fransisco/Player #1 so this show of hamlet we are doing a college collaboration. my theatre got backlash for attempting cast community member over her and the other theatre professor student's and it was rumored to be precast so it took them two weeks to release the cast list which only my college student the other students got cast so there was double casting and only 14 people were cast we wont perform until october

I disagree heavily! But that's okay! In my experience I know that my high school used to have understudies do a final dress if the show was far enough along, and i think that was awesome! I personally love being an understudy! But i understand kinda why you wouldn't cast them. Those contingency plans are awesome though, i hope that my director has those since she only does understudies SOMETIMES lol.

I feel like mean girls jr is a very good production to do, I was in it! It was the simplest productions I’ve done, it’s put in modern time so the costumes we literally used the ones the cast had at home. The jr version makes me cringe a bit but it’s not inappropriate. And I think it’s an easy production and fun one! And definitely was popular this year

This is kinda how I feel about Beast in BATB JR. Like “If I Can’t Love Her” is the best song in the show and a strong middle school boy is well capable of singing the song.
