Amy, so many ideas, wow! Thanks! Did you add any type of interfacing when punching on the tea towel? Or is the towel woven tightly enough? I am still working on my first project from years ago. I am determined to get it done before Christmas this year!😊
@DoodleDogPrimitives11 күн бұрын
It has been a while since I made that tea towel, but I believe I did use some interfacing on it, similar to how I punched this project: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHy3XoemoZmWY68si=JOFdi2UPGCA8sOXa Keep punching!

To be clear..he screwed through the quilt to attatch to barn?
@DoodleDogPrimitives24 күн бұрын
Yes, he screwed through the barn quilt and through the tin on the barn into the wooden structure of the barn. The screws were spaced to align with the wood behind the tin.

Thank you Amy! So helpful - Love the chain method! 🫣 If I painted in another color, would I still use the same paste wax? And what texture sandpaper did you use? 😊
@DoodleDogPrimitivesАй бұрын
I used a 180 grit sandpaper. I don't know why you couldn't use the same wax. You could always try it on a test piece of wood first to make sure you like the effect. Have fun creating!

How long can you store the dye and it still be useful?
@DoodleDogPrimitivesАй бұрын
I store mine in the refrigerator. With time, I don't find the dye to lose its potency, but like most things, it will get moldy.

Where do you buy your wool and what type of wool? There are so many choices.
@DoodleDogPrimitivesАй бұрын
It can be tricky when shopping - especially online to make sure you get the right thing. You don't want it to be too loose of a weave or too thick of a fabric. I usually purchase from a store that specializes in rug hooking. So far, that has always gotten me wool that is good for hooking. I have had good luck with Dorr Mill Store. If you are unsure, just ask the store before purchasing. I find most places to be helpful!
